Harrowing footage has captured the dramatic moment two heroic tradies rescued an elderly woman after her home became engulfed in flames.

The massive blaze tore through the Harold Street property in Seaton, in Adelaide’s north-west at about 12.15pm on Tuesday.

Footage showed thick plumes of smoke billowing from the home before the blaze quickly spread to the backyard.

Solar installer Mike Ajami and his co-worker were driving past during their lunch break saw the blaze and leapt into action.

The woman, 70, had also suffered burns when they found her in the backyard clinging to a tree.

Footage showed the pair jumping over the fence and Mr Ajami was heard shouting at the woman to escape.

‘Get out … Rob push her, push her,’ Mr Ajami screamed at his colleague.

‘There’s a lady there,’ she trying to get the fire out. ‘Holy f*** bro!’

His co-worker ducked for cover as thick smoke continued to spread during the chaos.

The pair rescued the woman by lifting her over the fence to safety.

She was rushed to hospital with serious injuries including several burns.

The woman was sleeping inside the home when the fire broke out before being woken by a neighbour banging on the front window.

‘She didn’t want to leave the house, she was holding onto the tree … she didn’t want to leave,’ Mr Ajami told Nine News.

‘Everyone was yelling, there was a lady at the back … no one was going to go and get her.’

‘So me and my mate jumped the fence.’

The woman’s condition in hospital is currently unknown.

Emergency services arrived at the scene a short time later and firefighters quickly doused the flames.

The house sustained extensive damaged in the blaze.

Neighbours commended the tradies’ bravery.

‘They’re heroes, they really are because she wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them,’ one woman said.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined by investigators.

‘Police and MFS Fire Cause Investigators are at the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the blaze including the cause of the fire,’ a police statement read.

Daily Mail contacted South n Metropolitan Fire Service and SA Health for further comment.
