TikTok star Indy Clinton has been slammed by fans over comments she made about bouncing back after pregnancy.
Indy, 26, often spruiks a ‘hard work and dedication’ approach to losing post-baby weight to her legion of TikTok followers.
But it seems some fans are less-than-impressed with Indy’s comments, claiming that genetics plays a big part in bouncing back after pregnancy.
Over on the Aussie TikTok Snark subreddit, user Mission Anybody, started a thread titled ‘Bounce Back Culture Indy & Sarah,’ referring to fellow influencer Sarah’s Day, real name Sarah Stevenson.
The user discussed an unposted TikTok video discussing how some women might be disheartened at the speed with which some influencers return to their pre-baby weight.
‘Basically this video was saying how it’s hard/discouraging to see influencers bounce back so quick, particularly Sarah’s day at 5 weeks pp,’ the user wrote.

The user added that Indy replied to the video in question, arguing that eating a calorie deficit was a surefire way to achieve weight loss.
‘I hate that you’re feeling like this, and comparison truly is the thief of happiness but please don’t assume my starting point was “thin”, Indy wrote.
‘I put on 25kg with soul, I am just tall so it spread out. With all my pregnancies I put on a lot of weight but I consistently wake up at 5am to workout, and eat in a calorie deficit.
‘Weightloss is science, you will see results if you eat in a calorie deficit. I have been extremely disciplined in my workouts and eating to get to where I am today – there’s no such thing as “bounce back” after 3 kids.’
The long winded reply continued: ‘Stretched skin, a separation, stubborn fat pockets. Everyone has a different journey but please don’t discredit hard work. Saying this with love and kindness cause I saw some comments about me.’
Indy’s comments were slammed by the poster who argued that a ‘whole host of factors’ can play a part in weight loss.
‘It annoys me she can’t admit genetics ARE part of it,’ they wrote.
‘I have similar build to her and also lost the weight pretty quick after having kids (being tall helps) and I can admit it is definitely easier for some and harder for others due to a whole host of factors.

‘Yes it’s hard work but others work just as hard and don’t see her results.’
And it appears that fellow redditors agreed with Mission Anybody, slamming Indy for her ‘black and white’ approach.
‘I just hate how she’s so black and white about “you’ll lose weight eating in a calorie deficit,’ one user commented.
‘No, not all of us do Some of us have conditions that even starving ourselves doesn’t see us lose weight at all
They continued: ‘If she was so educated on health and fitness she’d know that.’
Another argued that genetics plays a major part, saying they did no post-baby diet and excercise.
‘It’s definitely mainly genetics. I’ve had 2 big babies, both boys. Which historically everyone knows you put on lots of added weight with boy pregnancies,’ they wrote.
‘I bounced back within weeks after both my kids to 53kg, I’m 5″8 and thin top to bottom, my mum was exactly the same and she had 7 kids! I did nothing to lose baby weight or get thin again, literally nothing.

I don’t exercise I don’t diet I don’t eat super clean or well, it’s genetics.’
A third chimed in, claiming that Indy’s choice of foods was enough of a turn-off.
‘Eating her nasty hard boiled eggs with tuna and mayo her food always looks so disgusting,’ they said.
‘I’d personally rather just be a little thicker than that and eat well lmao.’
