Jon Stewart demolished the theory that Kamala Harris’ loss to Donald Trump was due to ‘woke s***’ and mocked her campaign as a ‘Cheney family reunion.’
Stewart delivered a 14-minute long monologue on the first Daily Show since Election Night and slammed his colleagues on cable news who were desperately trying to figure out what happened.
He was especially peeved by pundits who said the Democrats were too woke.
‘I only have one problem with the woke theory… I just didn’t recall seeing any Democrats running on woke s**t,’ the comic said, after playing clips of CNN, Fox News and MSNBC commentators theorizing why Harris lost.
He then showed a wide range of Democratic campaign commercials, with candidates from Sherrod Brown to Jon Tester to Pat Ryan claiming they would secure the border to talking about how they were against defunding the police.

Late night hosts lose their minds as Trump's triumph sinks in: 'America got back with a crazy ex'
He imitated the commercials, joking: ‘I gave the police more money than they even wanted! I gave them planes and tanks! I built a moat around the country and filled it with alligators and chlamydia.’
‘They didn’t talk about pronouns, they didn’t say Latinx, it was the opposite,’ he added, before playing even more Democrat campaign messages with conservative messages.
Some of them delved into issues like transgender people playing sports and sex changes in general, while others were professing anti-China beliefs and proclaiming proud gun ownership.
He even turned to Harris, hitting her for professing that she owns a Glock and would shoot any intruders.
‘They didn’t do the woke thing. They acted like Republicans for the last four months. They wore camo hats and went to Cheney family reunions,’ he said, referencing Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney and father and former Vice President Dick Cheney’s support.
He said that Democrats refused to define themselves and were stuck with what the Republicans projected upon them.
‘Democrats were mostly running against an identity that was defined for them based on a couple of months of George Floyd/defund the police/#MeToo Instagram posts from four years ago,’ he said.
Stewart continued to hit out at prognosticators in a 14-minute long monologue but eventually went after everyone trying to figure out what happened, especially several commentators who’d said the Democrats were too woke

Bill Maher's brutal four-word message for Democratic 'brats and snobs' after Kamala's defeat
‘What happened was, the country felt like the government wasn’t working for them and the Democrats, in particular, were taking their hard earned money and giving it to people who didn’t deserve it as much as them. And so, the Democrats got shellacked.’
He had a message of hope for the party, pointing out how badly they’d gotten beaten in 1984 by Ronald Reagan, before their comeback in the early 90s with Bill Clinton.
While not every late night show had a specifically political bent following the election, almost all of the left-leaning talkers addressed Trump’s victory in a depressed manner.
Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers issued pep talks for his solidly Democrat, Trump-Hating audience while Jimmy Kimmel spoke to liberal podcast Pod Save America and Jimmy Fallon discussed the results and sang a hopeful song with The View’s Whoopi Goldberg.
Meyers gave his typical, 16-minute comic roundup of the show and The Daily Show went all-politics as usual.
The shows also played recorded bits, with Fallon satirizing fast-talking anchors from cable news and Kimmel mocking Americans who were Googling basic facts of the election the day of the vote.
The exception was Bill Maher, who hit out at the Democrat Party, claiming it’s full of ‘brats and snobs’ who need to ‘look in the mirror’ after losing the election to Donald Trump.
Stewart said that Democrats refused to define themselves and were stuck with what the Republicans projected upon them
Maher’s roundup was a lively send-up of both sides, a sharp contrast to many of the liberal late night hosts losing their minds over the election earlier this week.
The comic, who predicted Kamala Harris would win the election and has long roasted the Republican Party on his HBO show, had harsh words for his own side in his monologue Friday night.
‘My message to the losers: Losers look in the mirror! For months, Democrats have been saying how is this even close? And they’re right, it wasn’t,’ he said, noting that Trump run fairly easily.
He savaged a Democrat Party that has become representative of college educated elites and identity politics: ‘You’re brats, and you’re snobs, and people don’t like that.’
