alert-–-miami,-texas,-is-america’s-most-pro-trump-town-–-and-they’re-voting-for-an-issue-that-will-could-change-life-there-foreverAlert – Miami, Texas, is America’s most pro-Trump town – and they’re voting for an issue that will could change life there forever

The most ‘pro-Trump’ town in the US may also be one of America’s friendliest.

In Miami, Texas– population 494 inside the city limits and 803 in all of Roberts County– a staggering 96.18% of voters cast their ballots for Donald Trump in the 2020 election, making it the reddest town in the country.

Located in the panhandle region of the Lone Star State, known for its open plains and cattle industry, only 17 votes were cast for the Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden in the same cycle.

The town’s reputation means they’ve been bombarded by visitors keen to find out ‘why’ during the 2024 campaign.

While they were keen to invite visitors in for some food, a chat and a look around, most were wary of putting their political views on-the-record.

But there’s no doubt the town is overwhelmingly Republican, with Trump-Vance signs and flags proudly displayed on manicured lawns everywhere.

One house’s flag read, ‘I’m voting convicted felon’ in reference to the 34 felonies the former president was convicted of in May for falsifying business records to hide a $130,000 hush money payment to a porn star.

Most in Miami would view the conviction as a political persecution.

With just 494 residents inside the city limits and 803 in all of Roberts County, only 17 votes were cast for the Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden in 2020

‘We’re just small town, apple pie America, and we all mostly have the same values,’ Kay Swart told DailyMail.com at a soup fundraiser for the chamber of commerce everyone in town attended after Sunday church.

‘We just believe in our country, and we support our community and our fellow country members, and we are church-going for the most part.’

There are four churches in Miami, pronounced My-am-muh.

There are no traffic lights, no bank, no restaurant and no grocery store.

The closest Walmart is in neighboring town of Pampa, which is 25 minutes away

It’s also a dry county, with no alcohol sales.

The number of Miami residents has been falling, with the bank closing and the single cafe in town going out of business.

This is relevant to the this year’s election as Miami voters will also be voting for the first time to decide whether to allow liquor sales, which is a huge departure from the town’s conservative way of life.

The nearest airport is about an hour and half away in Amarillo.

‘We’re kind of isolated out here. While in a lot of places, crime has gone up quite a bit,’ Danny Ferris, who moved to Miami in 2022 to work for the United States Department of Agriculture in neighboring Canadian, Texas, explained.

‘We just want things to get back to normal. Things haven’t been normal for at least four years. Rumors of war, all the things the Book of Revelation talks about.’

The Bible talks about end times in the Book of Revelation, which Farris mentioned. He’s part of the security team at the Methodist church.

Ferris had already voted early for Trump because ‘he’s the least of both evils.’

However, rancher William Clark took a decidedly less Christian tone when talking about Joe Biden.

‘Somebody should have shot him,’ rancher William Clark said.

‘Well, they tried to shoot Trump, so why not shoot the S.O.B.’

Clark, 80, served on the county commission for 32 years, but nowadays stays out of town and tends to his 4,100 acre ranch and his cows.

‘I just can’t see how a Christian person can vote for her. She can’t talk. She can’t carry on a conversation. How can she meet with other world leaders?’

But Nancy also said she was horrified by remarks made at Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden, where comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who was one of the opening acts for Trump, described Puerto Rico as a floating island of ‘garbage’ and made other racist jokes.

‘I don’t like it,’ she said. ‘I do wish Trump would close his mouth more. He would do a lot better.’

In the small town where everyone knows each other or are related, Carson shared that his daughter works in the elections department.

He’s been watching the national polls showing Trump with a razor’s edge lead in disbelief.

‘I just can’t believe how close it is. I just can’t understand. There can’t be that many weirdos out there,’ Carson added.

The couple, married just four years after having both been married before, hope Miami’s fame might mean a visit from Trump at some point.

‘Of course we’re big oil here and Trump’s for, ‘Drill, baby, drill,’ she said.

But the oil and cattle economy the town was founded on hasn’t been able to keep the population growing, despite that fact that Texas has seen boom town growth after the pandemic.

‘Alcohol is on the ballot for the first time, too,’ explained Swart, who shared how the local chamber of commerce has unsuccessfully lobbied to open a restaurant.

‘That’s another push for a restaurant – a lot of money in those drinks for a restaurant. It would give them another way to make money.’

The opening of an eatery would also help bring in sales tax for local government coffers.

Only voters in the city limits get to vote on the measure, Swart added, which would require very staunch Republican voters to vote progressively to allow booze sales.

On election night, there is no community watch party or gathering planned, with most folks intending to wait for the results at home.

‘Well if she (Harris) wins, then I know for sure it is the end of times,’ Nancy quipped.
