A British Airways pilot has died during a layover between flights at a resort on the island of St Lucia, according to reports.
The 47-year-old Senior First Officer collapsed at a luxury hotel in front of shocked tourists on the Caribbean island yesterday, The Sun reports.
‘This tragedy has left British Airways staff stunned and deeply upset,’ a source reportedly said.
‘The Senior First Officer was very popular and his death was completely out of the blue.’
Devastated crew members are expected to return to the UK on another flight tonight.
BA said in a statement to : ‘Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of our colleague at this difficult time.’
