Bill Maher has made an eleventh-hour plea to undecided voters as he warned the ‘progressive mind virus’ could hold Kamala Harris back from a win.
The comedian outlined the positive impact Biden and the Democrats have had on the economy, including aggressively tackling inflation.
But he admitted so-called Christmas Eve voters were probably seeking more reassurance Harris is not going to go along with ‘every anti-common sense idea that comes out of the woke mind virus’.
‘If she loses, that will be mainly why,’ Maher warned during an episode of his HBO show Real Time on Friday.
He suggested a fear among Dems of admitting things are ‘not that bad’, deemed ‘progressophobia’ is a part of the progressive mind virus and could be hampering their chances.

‘Undecideds, you should be voting Harris because of the economy,’ Maher said. ‘But undecideds don’t get that message because Democrats can’t make the words, ‘things aren’t so bad’ come out of their mouths.
‘Lest someone somewhere accuse them of not caring enough about those who are struggling.
‘But even in a good economy there are always going to be those who struggle with money.’
He highlighted how the US was able to slash inflation faster than anywhere else in the world without causing a recession – a feat he likened to, ‘catching a Space X rocket with your butt cheeks’.
Inflation has fallen from a high of nine percent in 2022, down to 2.4 percent.
The podcast host pointed out that inflation skyrocketed to begin with after both the Trump and Biden administrations forked out $6 trillion to tackle coronavirus, including sending out economic impact payments.
Maher also cited The Economist by saying: ‘An economy with an unemployment rate of four percent and a GDP OF $85,000 does not have to be made great again, it is great.’

He noted that under the Democrats the economy is relatively strong and praised the way the Biden administration was able to curb inflation without causing a recession
In the same reported he noted that in Mississippi, the US’ poorest state, the average person earns $85,000 which is more than in the UK, Canada and Germany.
He added that everything that should be low such as unemployment, black unemployment, poverty and gas prices already is, while things like the stock market, manufacturing, real wages, spending, saving and oil production are all on the up.
‘Things aren’t that bad, but they might get a hell of a lot worse under the rule of a mad king, ‘ Maher continued, referencing Donald Trump.
He also criticized those asking what the president can do for them personally, stating that the president is ‘not a genie’.
‘It’s Kamala, not Kazam,’ Maher quipped. ‘It’s a government, not an insurance company.
‘Do I love everything about Kamala? No. Who told you you get to love everything? Do I wish that she came up with a better reason to be president than I’m not Trump yeah it would have been helpful.
‘But let’s not forget, I’m not Trump is still a really great reason.’
Maher is a lifelong Democrat but has been unafraid to openly criticize the party even as election day draws near.

New polling shows Kamala Harris with a slight edge in the so-called ‘blue wall’ states with just four days to go as there are new signs Donald Trump could be losing support among one of the most reliable voting groups.
The Marist poll found Harris is up three points over Trump in Michigan among likely voters, 51 percent to 48 percent.
