A mall security guard appeared fearless as he tackled a teenage robber who was wielding a hammer while he and his accomplices carried out a smash and grab robbery at a jewelry store in Canada.
Footage shot on a cellphone by shocked bystanders captured the moment six mall cops rushed to the scene as they witnessed the robbery in progress at White Carat Co. Diamond in the Brampton Mall on the outskirts of Toronto, Ontario on Wednesday at 6:30pm.
The trio of thieves could be seen smashing up glass display cases while ransacking the place and emptying the contents into backpacks, trying to make off with as much as they could carry before being apprehended.
Six security guards were quickly on the scene with one male officer bravely tackling the man who appeared to be the ringleader, armed a hammer.

‘Drop the f***ing hammer!’ the officer demanded several times, but the robber refused.
The man then attempted to appear even more threatening and climbed on top of one of the cases holding the weapon in the air before leaping off the case.
Security could then be seen apprehending the man on the ground.
Another man in a black hoodie then moves from the rear of the store as more security guards approach.
Other mall security guards quickly rushed to the scene with six in the store at one point.

Other robbers were able to flee the clutches of security personnel at the mall
Working as team, the group managed to capture the teen who was arrested, while his two black hoodie-wearing accomplices, wearing disguises, fled and escaped the clutches of guards, who were unable to cling on.
Police said the trio demanded money and jewelry before removing a ‘significant quantity of merchandise’ from the smashed display cases.
Evan Sosa-Reyes, 18, from Brampton, Ontarios has been charged with robbery, and wearing a disguise.
There were no physical injuries reported by store staff or security officers.
