Jay Cutler arrested for DUI and gun possession in Tennessee
The former pro quarterback was arrested following a minor traffic accident in downtown Franklin, where he allegedly rear-ended another vehicle, according to a police report obtained by DailyMail.com.
Authorities reported detecting a strong smell of alcohol when they spoke with Cutler, who also had noticeably bloodshot eyes.
Despite the signs of impairment, Cutler refused to take a field sobriety test. He was later transported to a hospital, where a blood sample was collected under a search warrant, officials confirmed.
He faces additional charges for failing to exercise due care and violating the implied consent law.
A mugshot released by police shows the former Chicago Bears quarterback sporting a scruffy beard and looking visibly somber.
Cutler was released from Williamson County Jail later that day after posting a $5,000 bond.
