Do wear seasonal hues

‘Tis the season for autumnal colors,’ says Phillip.

‘Nature is the best creator as golden sunsets come earlier in the evenings and the leaves are ablaze with a mosaic of colors for fall dressing.’

The expert suggests deep rich burgundy shades, wine colors, harvest golds, earthy rich tans, and tobacco tones that naturally blend with harvest pumpkin and country rust oranges.

Actress and model Jenny Shakeshaft stepped out in a beautiful orange slip dress topped by a cream blazer – the perfect look for a formal dinner.

‘Playing with tones can create a rich color blocking look,’ says Phillip.

He also advocates the pairing of autumnal shades with classic colors that are already in your wardrobe.

‘Personally, I like the tops in a more vibrate camera ready colors and the classics for pants or skirts.’

Do wear an elegant sweater

Friendsgiving is a modern tradition that has taken off in recent years.

The on-trend holiday is a gathering of pals that takes place before everyone heads home to celebrate with their families.

For a Turkey Day spent with your besties, opt for a look that you’ll be comfortable in all night, as sometimes you can’t anticipate where the night will take you.

Need inspo? Just turn to Taylor Swift. The songstress stepped out for dinner in NYC wearing a printed sweater featuring autumnal hues with relaxed bottoms.

‘A beautiful top adds elegance and captures the attention of people looking at you across the table,’ says Phillip.

Cashmere sweaters featuring embroidery or jeweling – like the styles in his collection – are great conversation starters.

‘I created my one of a kind sustainable cashmere collection because a sweater is the perfect fashion piece,’ Phillip declares.

‘You can dress them up or you can dress it down. For the holiday season, elements I’ve included (beading, pearls, crystals and feathers) are perfect for adding a little sparkle glamour and luxury.’

When copping Taylor’s casual yet pulled-together ensemble, don’t forget a swipe of red lipstick!

Don’t be too casual

Five years ago you wouldn’t dare wear athleisure to a holiday party.

‘But these days, sweatpants and leggings seem to carry their own cache,’ shared Phillip.

‘They are not just for the gym or lounging around anymore. If you’re going to go for a look with an athleisure inspiration, find something that has a little extra style, like track pants with a sparkly racing stripe.

The stylist also suggests pairing your sporty pieces with a pair of bedazzled sneakers to elevate the overall aesthetic.

Or, teaming a jegging with a great blazer or knit top, accessorized with over-the-knee boots.

For a clean look, cover a drawstring or elastic waist with a longline sweater or blouse.

‘This is a great way to combine these seasonal trends, stay comfortable and feel confident that your style is festive and fierce!’

Do embrace

Do embrace “quiet luxury”

‘Over the last few years, we have definitely all become more passionate about our comfortable fashion,’ Phillip says.

‘But now that the world is back to having fun, traveling and organizing fun festivities with family, quiet luxury is the desired effect.’

Sofia Richie Grainge is the unofficial face of the aesthetic also known as “stealth wealth.”

The daughter of superstar Lionel Richie was recently spotted in Los Angeles wearing a white top and matching tea-length skirt topped by a brown leather jacket.

Her blonde locks were styled in soft waves and she accessorized with a small brown bag and matching heels.

Don’t dress too trendy

‘Eighties disco and ’90s lingerie fashions are perfect for a fun holiday fit but these styles do come with a warning,’ says Phillip.

‘Always be careful to remember the difference between a work party, a family event, and a friend’s holiday party – dress codes are absolutely different.’

To err on the side of caution, try pairing timeless pieces with a few of-the-moment accessories, à la Kerry Washington.

The actress recently stepped out in a sweater and skirt set by The Attico.

To modernize the classic garments, she accessorized with blue suede boots by Le Silla, a red Heru handbag, and layered Marlo Laz necklaces.

A monochromatic outfit elongates the body while looking effortlessly chic and pulled together. Slip into some fun boots, grab your best handbag and you’re go to go…anywhere!

Do pay attention to detail

Throwing a party at your house?

‘Being the hostess comes with a lot of responsibility during the holidays, but don’t forget looking good is your first priority,’ says Phillip like a true fashion maven.

‘You are the star of the evening, and all eyes will be on you,’ he explains.

Phillip suggests keeping your outfit comfortable and simple but stealing the show with statement pieces.

‘You will be doing a lot of running around taking care of your guests, so you don’t want an outfit that needs more attention than your company.’

The expert recommends a simple top and a chic pair of pants or a flowy skirt that will allow you to move around with ease.

‘Dazzle them with a great pair of earrings, a statement necklace, or even some fun bangle bracelets to draw attention to the beautiful dishes you will be serving.

‘As the hostess you have to pay attention to small details and accessories are the perfect way to do that.’

Don’t forget a comfortable pair of shoes!

Do consider the temperature

Blazers and cardigans are ideal layering pieces for the holiday which often tends to be brisk.

A tailored blazer is a sharp choice for an office party, while a cardigan is an acceptable cozy layer at a relaxed family gathering.

Crewneck knits worn over a camisole also make for an elegant look.

Television personality Lucy Mecklenburgh hit the red carpet in a slightly sheer mustard color jumper paired with a coordinating silk skirt.

When donning a skirt or dress, keep legs warm with hosiery that matches your skin tone.
