alert-–-heidi-klum,-51,-reveals-her-daughter-lou,-14,-inspired-her-to-represent-body-diversity-in-her-modelverse-projectAlert – Heidi Klum, 51, reveals her daughter Lou, 14, inspired her to represent body diversity in her Modelverse project

Heidi Klum is promoting body positivity on her new platform Modelverse.

The America’s Got Talent judge – whose Golden Buzzer winner took home the $1 million prize – opened up about how important it is to show all different body types and shapes, both online and offline.

The supermodel has created a virtual experience for Roblox where players can walk the catwalk in major fashion shows as their avatar – and she thinks the avatars should absolutely be available in many shapes and sizes.

The Project Runway alum got her inspiration for Modelverse from the years her daughter Lou, 14, spent playing Roblox.

She asked Lou what was missing in the game and the two figured out that only one certain kind of body type was available as an avatar to use and so Heidi decided she wanted to change that.

‘For most younger kids, I don’t think the diversity idea, or the importance of it, has even sunken into [their heads].

‘They don’t even realize,’ Klum said.

‘The world is not looking like this, and most of us are not looking like this.’

And the avatar shapes are important to her.

‘I wanted people to either come with their own avatar or create a new avatar [and have it be] however they want, and not just that one typical kind of body shape, which I think is so out of date,’ she explained in an interview with People.

‘We’re in 2024. I think diversity is bigger than ever these days, so why is this not reflected in any of the games,’ Klum added.

‘I feel like there needs to be a variety in avatars, so I wanted to make a world where there’s diversity in body shapes.’

And she didn’t stop at just including more diversity in body shapes.

She also inserted a bit of whimsy into character choices.

‘Why do we have to just look human? Why not be a hot dog walking down the catwalk or … a walking tree or anything like that?” she said.

In the game, users can customize their runway and fashion show to a specific theme that corresponds with a holiday, season or event.

‘I kind of looked at the world calendar and what kind of festivities are happening,’ Klum told the outlet.

‘I got inspired by those and created all these different worlds in these different places, so not to be redundant to always have the same catwalk.’

For instance, users can attend Heidi’s infamous annual Halloween Party on the platform during the month of October.

‘We dive into all these different worlds and their festivities, and for each I created different looks,’ Heidi explained.
