Fashion designer Christian Siriano has revealed the juicy reason that he will not dress the stars of the Real Housewives.
The 38-year-old made the candid confession on Watch What Happens Live, the talk-show hosted by Real Housewives producer Andy Cohen.
When Andy asked whether Christian had ever provided pieces to the reality stars, he frankly admitted the women were ‘not on my list.’
However the couturier added that there is a particular Real Housewife he makes an exception for, to the point she has become ‘my number one customer.’
Christian was so honest about his behind-the-scenes thought process that the studio audience was left stunned on Watch What Happens Live.

When Andy asked if Christian had ever dressed a Real Housewife, Christian replied: ‘I mean, ever? Maybe. But listen, they’re not on my list, because one, they don’t pay.’
The audience gasped at his forthrightness and Andy gave a slight grimace, but Christian insisted: ‘They don’t! They just, they don’t!’
He shared that the exception to his rule is Broadway producer Bronwyn Newport, who joined The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City on the latest season.
Christian raved that Bronwyn is ‘my number one customer, and has been shopping – everyone – for years, and spends real money and not the Real Housewives money.’
He provides ‘major’ apparel for her, he said, adding: ‘I mean we make her literally couture. All her confessionals are like Siriano pieces that she bought years ago.’
‘Okay, so then Housewives do pay!’ Andy crowed, but Christian quickly shot down his enthusiasm, saying pointedly: ‘One, and she’s new!’
Christian owes his own career to reality TV – in 2007 at age 21 he became the youngest-ever winner of Project Runway, which launched him to fashion stardom.
He has occasionally come in for mockery over his splashy personality, and has confessed that ‘when I was younger’ he felt stung by the blowback, via the BBC.

‘But mostly, I was just confused. I was 25 years old, and I ran my own business. Nobody handed it to me. I worked really hard, I made clothes, people bought them. What made people so mad about that? Because I was on a reality TV show?
Since Project Runway, he has dressed a glittering array of famous faces, including Michelle Obama while she was First Lady of the United States.
Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, Zendaya, Lizzo, Regina King, Lil’ Kim and Victoria Beckham have all been pictured in his designs.
He also created the purple trouser suit that Oprah Winfrey wore to give a speech at the Democratic National Convention this summer.
This week, Christian divulged some of his favorite looks among the celebrity outfits he has designed recently – and Oprah’s convention ensemble topped the list.
He spared a special mention for the busty gold and black number he confected for Lil’ Kim to wear to his New York Fashion Week show last month.
‘Now, she was late. She was very late,’ he acknowledged: ‘But she just looked really cool and I love dressing her. She’s an icon. She’s major.’
