A millennial couple purchased a charming 10-acre property in the heart of a national forest for a mere $200,000.
In a viral TikTok video uploaded by Alyssa under the handle @lysslanghomestead, the young duo, who are 28 and 29, document their 900-sq-ft cabin’s renovation.
The industrious couple first showcase their dogs running across their sprawling property, which is bounded by mountains and beautiful trees whose leaves are changing colors.
Across the screen, text appears that says: ‘My husband and I bought a cabin in a national forest. It’s less than 900 sq ft and perfect and also a total gut job.’
The couple have chosen not to disclose where their cabin is located, sparking a frenzied guessing game among followers charmed by their wholesome lifestyle.
The couple go on to share their restoration efforts, showing before-and-after photos of the cabin.
Throughout this sequence, Alyssa and her husband can be seen painting the walls of the home and changing its ‘yucky tile floor’ with something nicer.
‘It is our dream home,’ she wrote. ‘We can’t wait to keep renovating.’
In an interview with Newsweek, Alyssa revealed that she and her husband had always been interested in owning a property, but before they found the $200,000 cabin, it ‘seemed out-of-reach financially.’
Although they have undertaken significant renovations for the cabin, they have been able to perform most of the work themselves, which has yielded them a deep feeling of accomplishment.
‘The renovation has likely cost us around $10,000 doing all of the work thus far ourselves,’ Alyssa told Newsweek.
She continued: ‘Some of these projects can be stressful but doing it ourselves has brought us satisfaction in knowing that you can accomplish things that seem insurmountable at first.’
Alyssa’s TikTok also featured stunning views of the property, including a picture of the rustic and cozy-looking home. The cabin stands amid a copse of tall pine trees, and there is a water well a few feet away from it.
The video, which has over 423,000 views, went on to show a beautiful sunrise as seen from the home’s porch.
The clip shows their idyllic surroundings with a fiery purple sky, with the text on the screen saying: ‘Our new morning coffee view with 10 acres.’
Alyssa wrote that the couple had ‘creek access.’ She also wrote in the comments section that the water came ‘straight from a spring on the mountain.’
Since it was posted in late June, the TikTok has continued to attract countless awe-struck viewers.
In the comments section, many users confess their heartfelt admiration for the couple’s project.

But the couple is already considering some post-renovation plans, which include enlarging their home in the future
‘We recently got married at the property,’ Alyssa said. ‘In the near future, we plan on expanding our homestead with some livestock, such as mules, donkeys, chickens, ducks, and perhaps some cattle.’
