Kate Beckinsale’s visits to a Hollywood stress-relief guru have had the exact opposite effect to what she was hoping to achieve.

The British actress is now embroiled in a toxic legal battle with Nick Abramovic, who claims she hasn’t paid her near-$3,000 (£2,250) bill for his services at The Bionic Method, with the dispute being played out in the glare of social media.

It is understood the matter is now being investigated by Los Angeles police, meaning the 51-year-old cannot comment publicly.

But that has not stopped her from sharing negative reviews of The Bionic Method and hiring top LA lawyer Marty Singer.

On his spa’s website, Abramovic describes his method as being ‘a massage that’s more than just physical relief’ designed ‘to release emotional and energetic blockages’.

But he claims Beckinsale never intended to pay him for her treatment, writing on Instagram: ‘Over a two-week period Kate Beckinsale scheduled $2,700 worth of sessions with me, promising to pay us later.

‘But after her last session she completely ghosted us.’

He later asked his followers: ‘You decide: was Kate ever going to pay?’

Abramovic said she had offered to promote him on Instagram, which he took as a sign she was expecting a freebie.

He also posted correspondence chasing the money, saying: ‘I have made several attempts to reach out, but unfortunately Kate had chosen not to fulfil this legal obligation.’

He claimed this meant the non-disclosure agreement they had to keep their business private ‘is no longer legally binding’ so was ‘considering other options’.

Then Beckinsale responded by sharing a damning review of his services from another woman called Callie D, who said the spa was in a ‘creepy building’ and that her session felt ‘weird’.

Last night Abramovic said: ‘Services were provided in the most professional matter.’

Meanwhile, Kate’s spokesman said: ‘Abramovic is well aware as to why his bill has not been paid because he received a letter from Kate’s lawyer.

‘Kate is not able to discuss this matter because it is being investigated by LAPD.’
