Fans of former President Donald Trump have floated that the Republican nominee ditch the Secret Service and hire private security instead.
The comments come after a second assassination attempt was made on Trump in a two-month period.
On X, online commenters suggested that Trump use military veterans – or even the Hells Angels motorcycle gang – as protection instead of members of the Secret Service.
Former Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill, known for killing Osama bin Laden, was among those chiming in.
‘Maybe we outsource private security for President Trump … for God’s sake,’ O’Neill posted on X. ‘How many failures can a crew have? Let me know if you need me …’

O’Neill was among those military veterans.

Supporters of the former president have become increasingly skeptical of the Secret Service – with some pointing out that Trump is under indictment by the federal government, so how can a government entity keep him safe.
President Joe Biden blamed the close calls on the Secret Service not having enough resources and said Monday they needed to be bolstered.
‘The Secret Service needs more help,’ Biden said. ‘Congress should respond to their needs.’
Online Trump supporters had more creative ideas.

Trump has a large fan base among bikers and an official ‘Bikers for Trump’ group has existed since his first White House run in 2016.
A number of X users also pointed out that Trump has the means to purchase additional protection.
‘Trump is wealthy and has substantial financial resources; he can afford to hire private security for himself and his family,’ X user @OscarNonis noted.
That sentiment was echoed by @Todayshowviewer.
‘Trump is a billionaire and he owns the golf club. There is no reason he can’t provide for additional security beyond the Secret Service,’ the X user said.
