Donald Trump claimed ‘every place Kamala Harris touched has turned to shit’ during a rally, despite his wife’s pleas for him not to swear.
The former president was trashing his opponent at a rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, on Friday night as he campaigns in the must-win state.
He was complaining about asylum-seekers entering the US and claimed ‘this country is going to fail’, before he dropped the inflammatory statement.
‘These people are stupid people, that are running our country. They don’t have any common sense, they believe in an ideology,’ he began.
‘If you look at Kamala, and you look at what she’s done to… every place she’s touched has turned to shit. Every single place she’s touched.’

Trump turned to his left, away from the microphone, to address someone off-camera, and was heard saying ‘have to say it’.
He turned back to the crowd and explained that the Reverend Franklin Graham, a staunch Trump ally, wrote him a letter asking him not to swear in his speeches.
‘Your speeches would be even better if you didn’t use foul language,’ Trump said Graham wrote in his letter.
The Republican candidate added that Melania Trump also told him he shouldn’t swear in his speeches, but he found it difficult.
‘My wife also, she says please don’t use foul language but it’s hard – you know there’s some words that can’t be duplicated, they can’t,’ he said.
‘But there’s an example – well it’s not really that bad a word but, how can you top that word for what I’m talking about?

‘Every place she touches wouldn’t be nice? That would be a thud, it would land with a thud.
‘And Franklin’s probably right, I’m not sure I agree with him, but he’s a great guy actually… so I try and avoid it.’
Trump is down 1.4 per cent in an average of recent polls in Pennsylvania, a state that could decide the election result by itself.
Prone to attacks on opponents, Trump has at other rallies used swear words, even getting the crowd to chant ‘bullshit’ when complaining about his ‘hush money’ trial.

The vice president was speaking at a summit for Asians, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, discussing her mixed black and Indian ancestry.
Harris told the audience that young people shouldn’t let other define them by their ethnicity.
‘We have to know that sometimes, people will open the door for you and leave it open, sometimes they won’t,’ she said.
‘And then you need to kick that f**king door down,’ she said, to huge cheers, before laughing and apologizing, ‘Excuse my language’.
