Hundreds of thousands of senior ns will receive more than $100 in their bank accounts as one state doles out $30million worth of cost-of-living rebates.

More than 307,000 Western n Seniors Card members can expect to see the cash boost over the coming days.

Couples who are on the pension will be given $160.68 and singles will receive $107.12.

The payment started processing last week for pensioners already part of the scheme, but could take a few days to appear in bank accounts.

There has been an increased demand, which means anyone new to the scheme may have to wait longer for their annual payment.

‘The WA Seniors Card Cost of Living Rebate provides vital funds directly to seniors,’ Western Seniors and Ageing Minister Don Punch said.

The scheme, which was launched in 2009, is paid annually and has so far allocated more than $421million.

Mr Punch also urged seniors to look at their 2024-2025 Discount Directory, which has the comprehensive list of all the discounts older ns have access to.

The directory can be picked up at selected libraries, Community Resource Centres as well as offices of local politicians.

To be eligible for the scheme, n citizens or permanent residents must reside in Western and be more than 65.

If the senior has a job, they must work less than 25 hours a week.

Applications are available on the WA Seniors Card website.
