Homes Under The Hammer star Tommy Walsh was left gobsmacked by a controversial feature he found during a recent property transformation.
The hilarious moment was dubbed a series ‘first’ on the BBC daytime programme and left the presenter lost for words.
In a recent episode of the show, the TV personality made his way around a three-bedroom semi-detached property in Hilgay – a village in Norfolk, which sits four miles south of Downham Market.
Tommy explained to viewers that the unique property, which was previously a pub, is up for auction at a guide price of between £80,000 and £100,000.
He was quick to admit that the wild and quirky house would require a lot of work and money to get it up to scratch.

Taken aback by the low ceilings, he said: ‘Well, you can see that the ceiling height is going to be a bit of an issue.’
He ventured upstairs to see if it was any higher on the floor above, but was disappointed to find it was the same, adding: ‘There is not much in the ceiling left so it’ll come down.’
However, the real shock came when Tommy reached the top of the stairs and made his way onto the landing.
The star was faced with a very bizarrely placed ‘open plan’ shower, sitting right in the middle of the landing.
Visibly taken aback, the presenter remarked: ‘Oh! Now, that’s got to be a first for me, that is, open-plan showering.
‘I’ve never, ever seen a shower on a landing, all open to everyone. Not very private is it?’
The shower cubicle was strangely placed in the corner of the space with nothing shielding it from anyone walking by.
After he got over the strange addition to the landing, Tommy brought in specialists to see the property to assess exactly how much work was required.

As well as needing to be rewired and re-plumbed, the property also needed to be re-plastered and get central heating installed – a big job.
Despite the extensive renovations required, Auction House representative Gary Davison admitted that the one upside was the double glazing windows, which were ‘fairly good’.
The expert revealed that all of the amendments were made and work was done, the house could be sold for between £275,000 to £280,000 or rented for around £900 per month.
Viewers found out that the property was bought for £101,000, with the buyer setting aside a budget of £70,000 to get it up to scratch, and an estimated timeline of nine months.
The shocking episode comes just after Tommy’s fellow presenter, Martin Roberts, won a planning bid to open his own pub in a Welsh village – after snapping up the once-derelict watering hole without telling his wife.
TV star Martin, 61, described the fixer-upper project as a ‘bonkers plan’ after buying the Hendrewen Hotel in July 2022 for a reported £200,000 with no prior experience in the hospitality industry.
He also admitted he didn’t tell wife Kirsty about the ‘accidental’ purchase in the village of Blaencwm, Rhondda, almost exactly halfway between Swansea and Cardiff.
But Martin – and his spouse – may well be breathing a sigh of relief after he was given the green light by council officials to transform the former hotel into a gastropub with luxury accommodation.
It is his second such venture after he turned a nearby farm into a B&B – but this time, he is being followed around by cameras for a possible TV series.
