Two young crooks on hired bikes have been mocked for pinching posh food from a Waitrose home delivery van.
The brazen theft happened at 10am yesterday in Bow Common, east London, after the pair spotted an unattended supermarket vehicle in the street.
Video footage shows two men, clad in black, dumping green bicycles on the ground before looting the van.
One can be seen clambering out of the vehicle carrying two heavy crates of the expensive food.
The other can be seen packing the goods into his backpack.
Shocked locals were quick to poke fun at the duo, as reported by NeedToKnow.
Dorian Smith said: ‘That tapenade will come in handy.’
Colin White quipped: ‘Mad love for the quail eggs.’
One said: ‘There goes my lemon and poppy seed polenta cake.
Another added: ‘Wondered why they missed my 3pm slot.’
Brian Cobbold said: ‘Well perhaps the driver should have locked the door?’
Waitrose and Met Police have been approached by for comment.
