The mother of a Colombian actress let two men inside her home, where they tied her up, assaulted her and then stole her money.

Actress Johanna Fadul shared surveillance footage on her Instagram showing the suspects meeting her mother, María Fadul, at the gate as her two pet dogs briefly ran outside the Bogotá residence on Tuesday.

In the video clip, María Fadul can be seen giving the perps a tour of the two-story home before she was terrorized.

‘I’m going to show you the faces of these miserable people. I need you to help me report them,’ Johanna Fadul said in the video. ‘Today it was my mom, tomorrow it could be anyone. This country is horribly insecure.’

The actress, who is best known for her role in the hit series ‘Sin senos No Hay Paradiso’ (Without Breasts There Is No Paradise), told Semana that the incident comes just two weeks after a man visited her mother’s neighbor and expressed interest in buying her home.

The concerned starlet said that the suspects threatened her mother with a gun and a knife and then forced her into a bathroom, where they tied her up to a chair.

A frightened María Fadul eventually relented and told the suspects where they could find $2,700 in cash.

They also wanted to steal her vehicle, but fortunately, it was at a local mechanic’s shop being serviced.

Johanna Fadul, who is presently away from Colombia, accused government leaders of failing to ensure the safety of its residents.

‘It is a helplessness that one does not know what to say, nor what to think,’ she said. ‘It is very upsetting, it is very sad that in such a beautiful country, with such beautiful people, and because of three who are on the podium, the country is the way it is,’ she said.

‘And since they do not suffer what the people really suffer, well, what does it matter to them because in the end it is not with them?’

Bogotá Metropolitan Police commander, colonel Pedro Saavedra, said that an operation was launched to identify and locate the two individuals.

‘Our uniformed officers have all the operational and technological capabilities to be able to capture these people, with material evidence such as videos,’ he said in a statement.

The latest crime stats released by Bogotá authorities showed that 2,651 home robberies were reported in the first six months on 2024, a decrease of 36 percent compared with the same period last year.
