Detectives are probing the parents of a baby girl who died after they took her boating on an Arizona lake during a 120F heatwave.

Three-month-old Tanna Wroblewski passed away from suspected heat-related complications over the July 4th weekend.

She was with her family enjoying a trip out on Lake Havasu, around three hours outside of Phoenix, when tragedy struck.

The region has been baking in scorching temperatures and an extreme heat warning had been issued that day.

Mystery still surrounds the exact circumstances of Tanna’s death, with mom Alyssa Wroblewski telling DailyMail.com they are still struggling to make sense of what happened.

Now police have revealed they are investigating whether the baby’s death was the result of a crime. It has not been confirmed if the baby’s parents will face any charges.

The couple were out on the water with Tanna and her sister on July 5th when she became unresponsive.

The family quickly started CPR on the infant before the Lake Havasu City Fire Department took over.

Tanna was taken to Havasu Regional Medical Center before she was airlifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital where she later died, just days before she turned four-months-old.

Although her cause of death has not yet been released, officials believe it was brought on by a heat-related illness.

Prior to the tragic loss, Tanna joined her family on many boat trips, going out on the water for the first time at just seven weeks’ old.

The little girl’s family told DailyMail.com they have no idea what caused Tanna’s death and it was just a ‘regular, happy day as a family.’

‘I will never understand why you had to leave us, you were just too perfect. I love you endlessly and I will look for you everywhere angel,’ Tanna’s mother wrote in a tribute.

A GoFundMe set up to assist the family also paid tribute to the ‘real life angel’.

‘We are beyond devastated, heartbroken, there are just no words,’ ,’ the fundraiser states.

‘Our precious baby girl gave us her last smiles and we gave her our last kisses.’

A sweltering heat wave has taken over the US, causing at least 28 people to perish from heat related conditions in the last week, the Washington Post reports. 

On Wednesday, the tenth child this year died of heat exhaustion after being left in a hot car in Omaha, Nebraska.

The five-year-old was found unresponsive in the parking lot of a shopping plaza and could not be revived despite attempts at CPR.

Research shows that children’s bodies overheat up to five times faster than adults.

Some have questioned why Tanna was out during the extreme heat.

However, many have expressed sympathy for the grieving family.

‘All of your love, thoughts, and prayers are truly appreciated as they are going through the most difficult, unimaginable time in their lives,’ the GoFundMe states.
