Network Nine executives are said to be ‘up in arms’ after Scott Cam and Hamish Blake were not nominated for a Gold Logie at the upcoming 64th Annual Logie Awards this year.

Sources exclusively told Daily Mail the big wigs are ‘furious’ their top talent were snubbed while Robert Irwin, who has very little experience in TV, is up for the top gong.

While their Hundred host Andy Lee has been nominated for the top award, Ten and Seven are largely dominating the category.

‘The publicity teams on The Block and Lego Masters have been wrapped over the knuckles with Nine executives furious to see two of their most celebrated stars have been locked out of the major category,’ the Nine source said.

‘Channel Nine have been up in arms over two massive snubs in the Gold Logie category.

‘It was a massive shock and the disappointment goes beyond what Scotty and Ham think about the bizarre outcome.’

Each year the Gold Logie goes to the Most Popular Personality on n Television, which Scott, 61, and Hamish, 42, have both been recipients of in previous years, with the latter boasting two Gold Logies under his belt.

According to the insider, Nine were so confident the biggest names in their network would get nominated for the crowning achievement again that they didn’t bother to campaign to make it happen.

‘These days there is a complicated process in getting your bankable stars nominated and you really need to campaign hard to get your talent on that list,’ the source said.

‘The consensus was these two celebrated names would be nominated, but now it looks like their publicity team rested on their hands during that process which has resulted in some tough conversations behind the scenes.’

The source went on to say that without a publicity team fighting for Scott and Hamish to be considered, the public votes were swayed toward talent whose work made a bigger impact this past year.

They said Scott has been on the sour end of The Block fans recently after he was ‘a tad gossipy’ last season, prompting complaints with the n Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) when ‘nasty confrontations’ got out of control.

‘Scotty Cam did receive a small amount of backlash for being a tad gossipy during last season of The Block,’ the source explained.

‘Some industry insiders already assumed that had affected his chances. It seemed out of character and it did not go well with fans of the long running series.’

‘He should be shutting these toxic contestants down and not joining the drama,’ commented one viewer on The Block’s fan forum.

It is a bad look for the previously nominated Gold Logie presenter who has been hosting The Block for 14 seasons since 2010.

As for Hamish, while the radio star remains a beloved staple in n television, it is said his role as the host for Lego Masters , which debuted in 2019 and has four seasons to date, has become stale.

The comedian has been cleaning up at the Logie Awards for years, with several nominations and four wins, two of which were for the Gold Logie.

Many insiders believed he was on-track to land a third Gold Logie until Seven Network snapped up the rights to telecast the award show and their veteran presenter Sonia Kruger took out the competition last year.

‘Hamish needs to move on from Lego Masters and take a risk with his career if he wants to get back into the category,’ the insider said.

‘The brick building series is looking long in the tooth and there are rumours the show will be put on ice next year which will leave Hamish without a show in 2025.’

The source went on to offer a word of warning to other networks, saying there is a ‘lesson to be learned’ from this year’s Gold Logie nominees list.

‘If free-to-air networks want their stars nominated they will need to go hard for everyone on their books and not just expect an obvious result,’ they said.

The nominees for the 2024 Gold Logie include Hamish’s radio co-host and Channel Nine star Andy Lee as well as actress Asher Keddie.

Channel Ten’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! hosts Julia Morris and Irwin are also up for the prize, with the latter tipped as the favourite to win.

Seven has strong contenders with The Morning Show co-host Larry Emdur and last year’s winner Sonia Kruger in the running.

And the ABC also have their finger in the pie as popular presenter and broadcaster Tony Armstrong has been nominated for the top award as well.

Despite having several shows and stars up for various Logies, Channel Nine only managed to get Hamish nominated for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter.

Meanwhile, Scott hasn’t been nominated for any awards during n TV’s night-of-nights, though his show The Block is in the running for the Best Competition Reality Program.

Daily Mail has reached out to Network Nine for comment.
