A glamorous former conservative journalist has claimed she was exiled from one of New York City’s most exclusive clubs because of her views after making a controversial Fathers’ Day post.
Caitlin Sinclair, who was once an on-air reporter for OANN, said she was left ‘heartbroken’ on Wednesday when Zero Bond’s membership manager and one-time friend Duncan Menaker told her she would no longer be welcome.
‘They literally said, ‘We’re kicking you out because of your politics,’ she claimed to the New York Post.
That shock announcement came just days after Sinclair posted a photo to Instagram showing her holding up a sign reading, ‘You are here because your dad’s not queer.’
Sinclair, 28, said Menaker originally sent her an email on Wednesday asking her to ‘refrain from using the club’ after seeing the Fathers’ Day post.
But later in the day, Sinclair said, he called her to tell her her $3,850 annual membership was canceled.
‘A lot of your beliefs do not align with Zero Bond,’ Menaker reportedly told her.
‘He said I offended their members,’ Sinclair said. ‘You know what? Their members offend me.
‘There are members there who are huge Trump haters,’ she said as she defended her controversial post.
‘I was simply stating a fact, we cannot be born without a man and a woman,’ she said.
‘I’m not saying I don’t support LGBTQ+. I have trans and gay friends – I never said anything offensive,’ she claimed, noting that she is friends with Caitlyn Jenner.
Sinclair says she is now considering suing the NoHo establishment, claiming it was ‘100 percent discrimination.’
‘Why are other Zero Bond members allowed to attend pro-Hamas rallies, drag queen story hour and celebrate when Trump gets convicted, but that doesn’t go against Zero Bond policies?’ she later asked, noting ‘a lot of the members there hate Trump and stood in front of the courthouse.’
It is unclear which members Sinclair may have been talking about, but the ritzy club has attracted such celebrities as Taylor Swift, Jared Leto, Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly – and is a frequent hang out spot of New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
Many of those club-goers were her friends, Sinclair said.
‘They’re ostracizing me from my community,’ she said, claiming that many of the club-goers were her friends.
‘I paid the money to go to a safe space.’
‘If I went to the club wearing a MAGA hat or holding that sign [from the controversial post] that’s different,’ she continued.
‘But I never once brought my politics inside the club – that was my personal account that I posted on.’
Before she engages in any legal action, though, Sinclair has begged club founder Scott Sartiano to take her back – saying she wanted him to join her to ‘help me lead the way to showing our fellow New Yorkers and our fellow Americans that there doesn’t have to be this great divide.’
But a club insider says Sinclair is exaggerating how upset she is by the ouster, and has accused her of trying to stir up a controversy to get attention.
‘She obviously is doing this to try and get famous,’ the unidentified insider told the Post.
‘She got into Zero Bond, so they clearly knew exactly who she was and what her political affiliation was since she’s so public about it.
‘There are many Republican members so Zero Bond is clearly not anti-conservative, and for her to make this a political issue as opposed to admitting how disgusting her homophobic comment was is an embarrassment,’ the insider added.
Sinclair has also admitted that Sartiano once told her that her beliefs were welcome at the club, saying: ‘We need diversity at the club, so we’re glad you’re here.’
Still, club leaders say they have no plans to let her back in.
‘We stand by our decision to revoke Caitlin’s membership as a result of her public, homophobic Instagram post and not because of her political affiliation,’ they said in a statement to the Post.
‘It’s also come to our attention that Ms. Sinclair is attempting to exploit our club’s esteemed reputation for personal gain. Other than this, her baseless claims do not deserve any further comment.’
