Christine Lampard’s interview with husband Frank was branded ‘awkward’ by viewers during Friday’s Lorraine, less 24 hours after she chatted with him again on Loose Women.

The broadcaster, 45, was hosting the early morning ITV show and spoke to her partner, also 45, alongside comedian Lee Mack via video link about the upcoming charity Soccer Aid match.

As Lee cracked jokes the couple couldn’t contain their giggles while Frank appeared to awkwardly sway back and forth.

Christine, who wed the former footballer in 2015, ended the interview by saying: ‘Good luck with your training, good luck both sides, I have to be in the middle, and as we say It’s all for a good cause’.

Before adding:  ‘I’ll phone you later Frank’.

While other wrote: ‘Christine married to Frank? She never said’: ‘Christine Lampard interviewing her husband Frank about Soccer Aid…Less than 24 hours after she did the exact same thing on Loose Women. Something tells me ITV need a bit more variety in their daytime programmes’.

During Thursday’s Loose Women Frank candidly admitted his wife keeps him on a ‘tight leash’.

During the chat, Denise Welch told Frank the hosts would be doing a Find Your Phone segment later in the show and jokingly warned: ‘Just be careful you stay where you are and good luck.’

Frank laughed and replied: ‘I am fully aware that Christine knows where I am at all times. And if she doesn’t for like five minutes, I get a call saying: ‘What are you doing?’ I’m a good boy. I’m on a tight leash.’

Christine laughed and said: ‘That works both ways!’ as the audience laughed.

Given Frank will have his hands full with Soccer Aid for the rest of the week, she said: ‘Who’s going to take my bins out this week, that’s the big question.’

Frank joked: ‘That’s a good question, maybe you can Christine?’

Soccer Aid returns once more on Sunday June 9 with a host of celebrities and former professional footballers taking part.

The charity match, which has raised over £90million for Unicef since its inception in 2006, will be played at Stamford Bridge for the first time since 2019.

The interview comes after Christine previously claimed that she had children to stop other people asking when she was going to start a family.

She said during an appearance on Loose Women: ‘I had children to stop people asking me when I was going to have them. I’m glad I’ve had them. It’s because everyone assumes you have to be.
