WSFM radio star Amanda Keller had an unwelcome run-in with a bird live on-air during the Jonesy and Amanda this week.
Amanda, 62, and co-host Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones are ‘babysitting’ a 19-year-old rainbow lorikeet for a listener.
She was trying to get the bird out of its cage to give it bath when it decided to bite Amanda on her hand, drawing blood.
Amanda later uploaded a video of the drama to social media.
In the clip the comedian can be seen trying to lure the bird, called Blaze, out of the cage with a grape.

After giving the fruit a nibble, the colourful bird can be seen trying to escape Amanda’s grip.
After the lorikeet bit Amanda, the radio host could be heard letting out an alarming scream.
‘It was like the [time] when I was a kid and the neighbours had a kitten and I wanted it to wear a little dolls dress,’ Amanda joked. ‘That didn’t end well either’.

Photos uploaded to Instagram show the lorikeet perched on the radio star’s shoulder during a broadcast.
She captioned the post: ‘For those unfamiliar with the story, we’re looking after Craig’s beloved 19-year-old rainbow lorikeet for a week while he visits his 82-year-old mother for her birthday in Broken Hill – the first time in over three years!’

It comes after Amanda recently opened up about the emotional rollercoaster of motherhood.
In an interview published in Mel Wilson’s new book Parenting In Progress, the radio personality spoke to the author about the difficulty she faced as her sons Liam, 22, and Jack, 20, grew older.
‘I found when they’re little and when they’re squidgy, you express your love physically. Cuddles, holding hands. Once they’re taller they don’t wanna be hugged and played with anymore. I found that very difficult,’ she said in an excerpt from the book published by Woman’s Day magazine earlier this month.

‘We’ve just bought a holiday house on the (NSW) South Coast, and when I see people there holding hands with their little toddlers, I think ‘Oh I miss that’.’
Amanda shares her sons with husband Harley Oliver, who she married in 1990.
In October, Amanda revealed that her husband has been suffering from Parkinson’s disease for years.
She shared the news during an episode of her podcast Double A Chattery.
The WSFM breakfast host explained her husband received the diagnosis about six years ago, but the couple had only now decided to discuss the disease publicly.
Parkinson’s is an incurable brain disorder characterised by uncontrollable movements, including shaking, stiffness, and challenges with balance and coordination.
Unfortunately, the symptoms of Parkinson’s tend to worsen over time.
