Thongs, corsets, sheer bodysuits, bare bottoms, near full-frontal displays and steamy smooches… how song contest turned up the heat amid controversies

The Eurovision Song Contest was plagued with political unrest and controversy in Malmö, Sweden on Saturday night.

Yet it was not just global conflict and protests which raised eyebrows at the annual spectacular, as a host of contestants turned up the heat in a number of flesh-flashing ensembles and raunchy dances during the epic show.

Spain led the racy show, as Nebulossa, who performed Zorra during her performance, was joined by thong and corset-clad male dancers in PVC thigh-high boots – making her busty, corseted outfit appear practically demure.

Hot on her heels were acts from Slovenia, Finland, Austria and the UK, who left viewers clutching their pearls with racy displays during the widely-discussed show.

Raiven, Slovenia’s offering, left practically nothing to the imagination as she belted out her track Veronika, co-written by Bojan Cvjetićanin and Klavdija Kopina.

The songstress, 28, real name Sara Briški Cirman, led the sizzling antics of the evening in a sheer bodysuit with just nipple pasties protecting her modesty while her dancers were made to look totally naked in nude underwear.

Finland’s wild show comprised the act Windows95man, real name Teemu Keisteri, left fans aghast as he appeared to be naked from the waist down.

The Finnish star was filmed using very clever camera angles as he rocked a cropped white T-shirt with a pair of socks and sandals.

His performance caused outrage amongst viewers at home who took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to say they are in shock that he was allowed to perform like that.

‘Oh, put some trousers on. The song is better on second hearing but the staging is all over the place and adds nothing.’

Windows95man was seen emerging from a denim patchwork egg at the start.

Speaking ahead of his appearance, he told PA: ‘All my son and all the young people and all the grandmas like (it), I think they really love my show and… child and old people doesn’t care anymore and I don’t care anymore.

‘So I think adults should little bit learn, and let it go a little bit and it’s not so serious that you see (a) little bit (of) my a**.’

He continued: ‘It’s really looking like my art what I’m doing, and (being brave) to not try to fake anything… it’s really not easy always to be yourself.

‘And just like, I hope in the final I can be, I don’t know if it’s possible? Can I be even more myself there in the stage, but it’s just telling the no rules story, what is like my motto with my art (which I have had for) already more than 10 years, like I figure out that I don’t need to have a basic life and day job and just I can start to do my art.

‘And use this no rules motto… together with my paintings and with art and music and this time, Eurovision song, my first… single.’

Austria’s performance came from Kaleen, 29, with her club anthem We Will Rave.

She ensured all eyes were on her during the show as she stormed the stage in a pannelled bodysuit with modesty-protecting bejewelled strips.

The stunner paired the look with thigh-high boots, which only added to the sizzling nature of the entire ensemble for the high-octane act.

Olly Alexander of the UK was also turning up the heat, as he danced in what looked to be a changing room mixed with a public toilet.

He was surrounded by scantily-clad male dancers, all of whom were engaging in provocative dance moves and suggestive near-kisses.

British fans of the show were left furious after watching Olly’s performance as they suggest the star was ‘sabotaged.’

When the Years and Years singer, 33, took to perform his upbeat song Dizzy, viewers claimed his music was intentionally quietened.

Swiss act Nemo walked away victorious at the contest, where they become the competition’s first non-binary winner, after they scored 365 points with the juries and 226 from the public for a total of 591 with their song The Code.
