Inspired by a real life U.S. military program, the eight-part first season focused on a covert operation in which female agents were recruited to befriend the wives and girlfriends of terrorists.

Season one saw CIA agent Joe (Zoe Saldaña) recruit a Marine, Cruz, played by Laysla De Oliveira to make pals with the daughter of a financier who is funding a terrorist program.

A new statement from producers teases that Kidman may play a larger role in season two as Joe’s stern boss.
