This is the moment two men robbed a mail carrier in broad daylight and pointed a gun to her head in a brazen robbery on a sun-drenched street.

The frightening incident took place around 4:30pm Monday in Dublin, California,  as two masked robbers ran up to a postal worker as she placed items in a mailbox.

One of the unidentified thieves pointed a gun at her head as they snatched the mail out of her hand before they ran away with her keys to mailboxes and her phone.

The mail employee, 63, who wished to remain anonymous, told KTVU she is scared to return to work because of the incident.

‘I thought he was going to shoot me when he was done, but I’m thinking in my mind just stay calm, stay calm, stay calm,’ she said.

Video of the traumatic encounter shows the unsuspecting female employee placing mail in a mailbox while her truck is parked behind her.

The two suspects then sneak up behind the truck and approach her.

One of them grabs her by her waist as she screams, while the other walks up behind him.

A man holds a gun to her head and starts rifling through the mail in her hand, while the other stands close by.

She then passes her keys to the man with the gun before the three of them make their way to the truck as they make her give them her phone.

One of the robbers puts his head inside the truck to watch her as the other stands behind him and looks around the area.  Seconds later, the armed robber pushes her out of the truck before he goes back in, grabs her keys and runs off with his accomplice.

The video ends with the employee standing by herself, holding her face in shock as she tries to understand what happened.

‘Somebody came behind and boom, just hit me and put a gun to the back of my head,’ she said.

‘And he said, “Gimme your keys, you don’t wanna die, do you?”‘

The employee said the robbers gave her two minutes to grab her phone and keys for them.

After the robbery, the employee went to a neighbor’s house for help and called 911.

Though she did not suffer any physical injuries, she was left scared emotionally and mentally.

‘It’s been really hard, I mean it’s like I can’t sleep, I can’t think, I mean it’s like, my heart’s pounding,’ she said.

The employee said that she has gotten help from a psychiatrist to deal with the trauma.  She told KTVU she has worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years and that she planned to retire in about a year-and-a-half.

The employee said she wants to go back to work and believes her love of the job will inspire her to return.

‘I love my customers, I like to serve them,’ she added.

A neighbor captured video of a blue sedan driving to and from the scene of the crime that could belong to the suspects. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for any information that could lead to the arrest of the two robbers.

It is considered a federal crime to rob a mail carrier in the U.S. There is a possibility that they could face state and federal charges.

The federal agency said at least six mail carriers have been robbed in the Bay Area since April.
