Savannah Guthrie has admitted that she was a ‘little embarrassed’ to flaunt her legs on live TV in a bedazzled bathing suit as she transformed into her idol Taylor Swift to celebrate Halloween on Today.

The anchor, 51, embodied the Folklore songstress, 33, on the NBC morning show, while her co-star Jenna Bush Hager, 41, donned a hilarious fake mustache to portray the late great Sonny alongside Hoda Kotb’s Cher – but left her son confusing her for his dad Henry.

Not only did Savannah look the part in a head-turning one piece, fishnet tights, sparkly silver heeled boots and a long blonde wig, but she effortlessly assumed character, miming along to Cruel Summer and dancing on the stage.

Speaking exclusively to .com at the Plaza on Tuesday morning, Savannah said that while it was a ‘dream’ to release her inner Taylor, she was a tiny bit self-conscious – and was happy to quickly cover up in her green Folklore-inspired cape.

The 51-year-od anchor was a vision as she dressed up as the Lover songstress, 33, on the NBC morning show

‘It’s a dream to get to dress up as Taylor,’ she said. ‘I’m a big Swiftie. I feel good, especially now that I have my Folklore robe over me.

‘It’s a little embarrassing to wear a bathing suit on national television. I was like, “please can I have a Folklore robe to walk around in?”‘

She continued: ‘My hair has never been so long or straight. I’ve never had bangs! I’m into being Taylor. It’s fun, it’s a fantasy.’

Despite looking spectacular, Savannah revealed she had no plans to wear it for the whole day.

‘I think what I’m gonna do is trick or treat in my folklore robe because it’s nice and warm and I can wear jeans under it,’ she said.

‘If I can keep this wig on, I’m going to.’

Meanwhile, Jenna admitted that her four-year-old son Hal mistook her for her husband Henry, 45, when she FaceTimed him in character as Sonny.

Savannah ripped off her robe and unveiled her sparkling blue and pink bodysuit – and effortlessly assumed character as she rocked the stage

She was also seen keeping warm in her Taylor-inspired velvet green robe

Jenna Bush Hager, 41, and Hoda Kotb, 59, went as the legendary musical duo Sonny and Cher, with Hoda rocking a long, flowing, pink gown, a long brown wig, and enormous hoop earrings

They put on a fake performance of the track I Got You Babe, holding hands as Hoda swirled around and Jenna shook her groin area. Sonny and Cher are seen in 1968

Jenna and Hoda, 59, teamed up and went as the legendary musical duo, with the former opting for a sparkly gold suit, a short brown wig, and a mustache.

Recalling the hilarious phone call, the mom-of-three told .com: ‘I FaceTimed my son Hal, who thought I was Henry, which I take as a huge compliment. ‘He goes “daddy?”‘

Hoda admitted she was too scared to call up her daughters, Hope, four, and Haley, six. ‘They’re going to say “who’s he?”,’ she cringed. ‘Hi, it’s me!’

The hosts of the NBC morning show pulled out all the stops for their costumes this year, dressing up as some of the most acclaimed musicians in history

‘I look like a man,’ Jenna continued. ‘I think I have to take the mustache off, it’s itchy.

‘It already came off once but they just glued it again so I will for sure have some sort of rash.’

Each year the Today show talent go all out with their Halloween costumes, having previously embraced a variety of themes, including Broadway, Las Vegas, and the 1980s.

This year’s theme was Kellyoke in honor of The Kelly Clarkson Show’s move to New York.

Al Roker performed Dancing on the Ceiling as Lionel Richie, while Willie Geist recreated Harry Styles’ famous performance on the show, dressed in a striped jumpsuit.
