This is the jaw-dropping moment that father and daughter skydivers witnessed Monday’s total solar eclipse while in mid-air, after they jumped 14,000ft from a plane over Texas.

Footage shows the pair travelling in an aircraft belonging to the Dallas Skydiving Centre, as they prepare to take the plunge back down to Earth.

If the skydive itself was exhilarating enough for the duo, they would have been further enthralled by the opportunity of catch the total solar eclipse – which swept across North America on Monday – as they made their descent.

The lucky skydivers can be seen freefalling from 14,000ft before the camera cuts to them floating with a parachute as the rare celestial event of the eclipse darkens the sky.

Once they were settled on their course back towards terra firma, the father exclaims: ‘Check that out,’ as the sky begins to change colour around them in breathtaking fashion.

The man and his daughter then smile and wave to the camera in a mixture of shock and awe as they witness the total eclipse from a unique vantage point.

Both enjoying their memorable excursion, the pair sign off from the video by raising both their hands in delight, before they continued on their unforgettable voyage through the sky.

An extremely rare occurrence that can only be viewed for a very short period of time, a total solar eclipse takes place roughly every one to three years.

It sees the moon pass between the Earth and the sun in an eye-catching celestial event, while also raising the profile of one of Tyler’s greatest hits.

Crowds gathered from far and wide to watch the stunning 2024 total solar eclipse across the United States, from Texas to the East Coast.

Cities including Dallas, Texas; Buffalo, New York; and Burlington, Vermont, were among the spots with the best views.

Millions of people gathered to catch a glimpse of the stunning celestial event, with crowds across the US mesmerised by the sight of the total solar eclipse.

Although a total solar eclipse occurs somewhere across the world once every one to three years, North America is not set to see another total solar eclipse until 2044.
