Morgan Wallen could potentially be facing serious prison time after his most recent drunken escapades and subsequent arrest, but his friend Ernest found plenty to laugh about.

Ernest Keith Smith, a country singer who performs under just his first name, shared a video of himself to Instagram on Monday that poked fun at the 30-year-old superstar’s latest brush with the law.

He made a joking reference to the ‘chair’ that Wallen lobbed from the sixth story of a downtown Nashville bar, which allegedly landed just three feet from police on the ground.

Wallen was arrested shortly afterward on Sunday night, attorney said Monday that he is ‘cooperating fully with authorities.’

In Ernest’s video from Monday, he filmed himself in the driver’s seat as he drove, while captioning the clip: ‘Alexa, play “The Chair” by George Strait.’

While the caption appeared to be a joke about Wallen’s recent chair-throwing incident, Ernest also poked fun at his pal in text written over the video.

‘When Morgan asks me if I wanna go to Broadway…’ he wrote, while remaining stone-faced in the video as he drove.

Despite what his caption said, the video was soundtracked to country star Lainey Wilson’s song I Would If I Could.

Ernest had cued up his video over a portion of the pre-chorus in which she sang: ‘I would if I could / But I can’t, so I won’t / But I want to.’

Contrary to what fans might have though, the ‘Broadway’ of his text wasn’t the Great White Way of Manhattan fame, but rather the street in downtown Nashville where Erich Church’s Chiefs bar, the spot that Wallen through the chair from, is located.

Ernest’s clip therefore showed him hilarious turning down an invitation to a night of partying that ended with Wallen’s arrest.

Earlier on Monday, DailyMail.com revealed that Wallen launched his chair from the bar’s sixth floor after learning that his ex-fiancée had recently eloped while bringing along the toddler they share.

Wallen was released on bond from a Metropolitan Nashville Police Department after hurling the chair from the Chiefs Bar just after 10:45 p.m. on Sunday.

He was charged with three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct, with officers alleging the chair landed three feet from them.

Wallen was upset by his former flame Katie ‘KT’ Smith eloping with Luke Scornavacco on April 3 — just five days after they got engaged.

The pair announced the news on her social media feeds, with Smith, 29, holding up a marriage certificate from the Wilson County Clerk’s Office in Tennessee as the two grinned at the camera.

Sources told DailyMail.com: ‘KT’s marriage to Luke last week just crushed him.’

The source added, ‘Of course he knew they were engaged and eventually going to get married — but eloping just days after they got engaged?

‘Morgan has never gotten over her even though he couldn’t stay faithful to her. And now another man is going to be raising his son.

‘Whatever happened at that bar had to be reality hitting him in the face over losing the love of his life.’

Wallen also proposed to Smith, and the pair dated on and off from December 2016 to November 2019. They welcomed a son Indigo in 2020.

The toddler was there to witness his mom get engaged after Scornavacco, 22, got on one knee on March 29 at Magnolia Farm in Eagleville, Tennessee.

Wallen’s former lover shared a series of smitten photographs with her new love, and she defended herself against online commenters who questioned the speed of their relationship.

She denied that the nuptials were a shotgun wedding, but joked on her Instagram Stories that, ‘Now we’re married we can try all we want.’

Wallen is accused of launching a chair from the sixth floor of Eric Church’s new honky-tonk on Broadway.

Bystanders claimed that the singer laughed after throwing the chair from the top of the roof, and was booked shortly after 12:30 a.m.

Wallen’s bond was set at $15,250 and he was spotted being shielded by umbrellas as he was released from Davidson County jail around 3:30 a.m.

MNPD released Wallen’s mugshot on Monday morning, showing the country music star grinning after the alleged drunken escapade.

In a statement, his attorney Worrick Robinson said: ‘At 10:53 p.m. Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities.’

The hitmaker is set to appear in court on May 3, between two scheduled performances at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville from May 2 to May 4 as part of his ‘One Night at a Time’ Tour.

Wallen could face up to 15 years in prison if he’s convicted of the felony charges, and no less than one year.

It is not his first scrape with the law. Wallen was infamously detained in May 2020 over disorderly conduct at Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk bar in downtown Nashville.

The country music star was also previously arrested at the lower Broadway bar for public intoxication.

He was placed into custody outside Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk and Steakhouse after reportedly kicking several glass items, according to a Metro Nashville Police Department affidavit.

An officer observed security guards kick Wallen out of the bar due to being disorderly inside.

According to the affidavit, Wallen was given several opportunities by police to walk away with his friends, but he refused. He was also charged with DUI in 2016, but the case was dismissed.

Chiefs Bar is owned by fellow country artist Eric Church and was celebrating its grand opening over the weekend.

Footage shows Wallen being arrested by MNPD, and appeared to be shouting at a cop.

Wallen was set to open up his own Nashville bar in 2024, called ‘This Bar, to pay tribute to his Tennessee roots.

The six-story bar will be located at 107 4th Avenue North on Lower Broadway and is set to be a live music venue and restaurant.
