Former President Donald Trump has reportedly revealed he has a plan to end Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in just one day if he is re-elected in November by convincing Kyiv to give up land.

Sources told The Washington Post that Trump’s proposal includes urging Ukraine to give up Crimea and the Donbas border region to Russia in order to end the war.

The former president believes people in Ukraine would be accepting of that deal and he thinks both Russia and Ukraine ‘want to save face, they want a way out,’ according to Trump insiders.

Trump has regularly claimed that he could end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours and has encouraged Russia to attack NATO members that fail to ‘pay their dues.’

‘If I were president, the Russia-Ukraine war would never have happened… never in a million years,’ Trump said in a video obtained by DailyMail.com in February 2023.

‘But even now, if I were president, I’d be able to negotiate an end to this horrible and rapidly escalating war within 24 hours.’

It is unclear how Trump would reach that agreement between the warring nations. He previously said he would be able to hash out an agreement between the two nations, but has not provided any support to negotiations.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has also made clear he will not surrender any territory.

During a December press conference with President Joe Biden, the Ukrainian president was asked about the stalled counter-offensive against Russia and if he’d cede territory to end the nearly two-year long assault.

‘That’s insane, to be honest,’ Zelensky said through an English interpreter.

‘That’s part of Ukrainian society. We are talking about human beings. They are being tortured, they are being raped and they are being killed,’ he said. ‘That’s not a matter of territory. That’s a matter of life, of families, of children, of their histories.’

‘I don’t know whose idea it is, but I have a question to these people, if they are ready to give up their children to terrorists. I think no,’ Zelensky said.

Trump was impeached in 2020 for attempting to coerce Zelensky into investigating Biden, then his main political rival, as well as his son Hunter Biden and the cybersecurity company, CloudStrike, Hunter was managing in Ukraine at the time.

Fiona Hill, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution who was Trump’s top Russia adviser told The Washington Post Trump’s team ‘is thinking about this very much in silos, that this is just a Ukraine-Russia thing.’

‘They think of it as a territorial dispute, rather than one about the whole future of European security and the world order by extension.’

Michael Kofman, an analyst of the Russia-Ukraine war at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a nonpartisan research center said, ‘ ‘No amount of leverage the United States has is likely to compel Ukrainian leadership to engage in policies that would constitute domestic political suicide.’

‘And no amount of leverage the United States has can compel Ukraine to cede territory or engage in these types of concessions. This is a situation where if you’re willing to give a hand, the other side will very quickly want the rest of the arm.’

Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said, ‘Any speculation about President Trump’s plan is coming from unnamed and uninformed sources who have no idea what is going on or what will happen.’

‘President Trump is the only one talking about stopping the killing.’

Trump’s reported plan is vastly different than President Joe Biden’s stance on Ukraine.

The U.S. has earmarked at least $113 billion for Ukraine since Russia invaded and Biden has insisted America ‘will not walk away’ from the conflict.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed confidence that Ukraine will become a member of NATO and insisted support for the embattled country is ‘rock solid.’

The support for Ukraine, the determination of every country represented here at NATO remains rock solid. We will do everything we can; Allies will do everything that they can to ensure that Ukraine has what it needs to continue to deal with Russia ’s ongoing aggression,’ he said.

He also called on Congress to move forward with aid to Ukraine. Conservatives on Capitol Hill have blocked a $60billion military aid package which has ultimately led to severe shortages of ammunition for Ukrainian forces.

This has allowed Russia’s army being able to push back Kyiv’s forces along almost the entire 600-mile front line.
