She’s a jetsetter who spent last week in Berlin.

But now Sanna Marin has headed to New York.

Finland’s former Prime Minister , 38,  shared personal snaps of the trip to her Instagram stories, of which included a casual walk through Central Park.

The jet-setting mother-of-one took to New York just days after visiting Berlin, where she posted herself visiting a Holocaust memorial and the German Health Ministry.

This time around however she appeared to have embarked on a more social trip where she seemingly enjoyed lunches and cocktails with friends.

Taking to her stories, Sanna – who gave up politics last September to join the Tony Blair Institute – posted a picture of passers-by near Radio City, which she tagged ‘NYC’.

The shot captured the essence of New York tourism, including its famous yellow cabs and sky-high buildings.

During her trip she also attended a ‘working lunch’ with friends, where she tucked in to a fish salad with leafy greens and an entree of fresh bread.

Later on the ex-Social Democrat leader and two friends filmed a selfie video while walking through New York City’s sixth-largest park, Central Park.

For the trip, she donned an off white outdoor coat which she paired with black leggings and matching black accessories.

Her and a pal then posed up a storm while sitting in front of a large water fountain.

Hours later Sanna posted an image of a cocktail garnished with a purple flower which she branded ‘the cutest drink ever’.

Her last image for the day featured the politician and her friends dolled up as they met an old colleague for dinner at a restaurant in New York.

She donned all black for the night out, while her brunette shoulder-length hair was styled neatly with a side part.

Sanna was the world’s youngest prime minister when she took office in 2019. She lost the general election in Finland to the country’s conservative party leader Petteri Orpo in April 2023.

Last May, she announced she was divorcing her husband Markus Räikkönen after 19 years together.

The couple, who share five-year-old daughter Emma Amalia Marin together, were rarely seen in public together in the months leading up to their divorce.

Sanna recently shared a series of photographs from a visit to Berlin earlier this week.

Among the photos was one of the city’s Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, which opened in 2005 and is described as ‘a place of contemplation, a place of remembrance and warning’.

She also visited the German Health Ministry while in the city.

The series of photos, which garnered over 61,000 likes and 820 comments in the 20-hours since they were posted, were accompanied by a simple caption.

It simply said: ‘Berlin’ and was followed by a black heart emoji.

The visit comes several weeks after Sanna made a visit to war-torn Ukraine.

Sanna went to Bucha, the site of the mass murder of around 500 Ukrainians at the start of the war in March 2022.

She was in the city with the HALO Trust, which works globally to clear unexploded landmines. In Ukraine, Marin says around 19,000 explosives have been neutralised since the war with Russia began.

While in the war-torn country, the ex-Finnish PM – who was just 34 when she took office in 2019 – also had a brief return to diplomacy as she met with the Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

She said: ‘I had the opportunity to engage in numerous discussions about the state of the war, reconstruction, and Ukraine’s European future.

‘It was also very interesting to visit a humanitarian de-mining site in Bucha, where an international organisation HALO Trust works to make war-torn areas safe safe by clearing landmines and other explosives’.

Dusting off her political hat for a moment, Marin posed for photographs with Mr Shmyhal, and sat down for talks with the Finnish ambassador to Ukraine over lunch.

She said: ‘It was a great honour to meet Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko, Head of Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna.

‘With more than two years of brutal war, the need for international attention is more crucial than ever.

‘In order to win the war, Ukraine needs even further political, financial, economic, humanitarian, military and diplomatic support. Sanctions must be enforced.’

As Finland’s prime minister, Marin was one of Europe’s youngest leaders, and oversaw her country’s successful application to officially join NATO.

Announcing her resignation from politics, Marin told Finnish broadcaster YLE that it was ‘time to move on’.

She said: ‘I am eager to step into a new role. I also believe that it can benefit the whole of Finland.

‘I believe that I can serve those voters [in Finland] well and maybe even better in the new assignment’.
