Kate Winslet is said to be having her very own The Holiday experience as she swaps Hollywood for Cork to learn how to make soups and stews in an €865 cookery course.

According to reports, the actress, 48, who starred in the Christmas favourite alongside Cameron Diaz and Jude Law in 2006, is spending 2.5 days this week being taught by Irish celebrity chef, Rachel Allen, 52.

Kate has been staying at four star Ballymaloe House, where prices start for a classic double room around £360 per night, and Ballyshane Coastal Retreats, which is a  private 20-acre compound boasting four properties with sea views and nearby walks to sandy beaches, claims the Irish Examiner.

Residents have reportedly seen the Hollywood star in the nearby village Ballycotton with her husband Isaac and chef Rachel.

In the sold out course Cooking for Family and Friends at Ballymaloe Cookery School, Rachel teaches how to make meat and vegetarian dishes from starters to soups, salads, stews, puddings and more.

They then have to cook two to four dishes from each demo, with opportunity to watch the cows being milked, sourdough loaves being made and produce being gathered.

Following the release of Titanic, she confessed having a normal life quickly became ‘inaccessible’ and she struggled to have ‘fun’ and enjoy her stardom.

Kate, who was 21 when she filmed the movie, said: ‘It was really not much fun because I didn’t have kind of an infrastructure, I guess, that went hand-in-hand with being a famous person.

‘Like, I lived in a small little two-bedroom flat in North London, you know? I didn’t have, like, security outside my home. I could never have afforded that kind of thing.’

She explained that at the time, she couldn’t ask for any privacy because she felt like she had to just ‘shut up and be grateful.’

Following the Titanic, Kate went on to star in other hit films including The Holiday, Labor Day, Divergent, The Mountain Between Us, and most recently, Lee.
