Meghan Trainor revealed she has been hitting the gym and eating clean to get in her best shape ahead of her first headlining tour in seven years.

While reflecting on how she is preparing for The Timeless Tour later this year, the 30-year-old singer explained how she is preparing her body to perform 24 shows across the country between September 4 to October 19.

‘I’m feeling fit. I’ve never been so fit,’ she told People, noting that her husband Daryl Sabara and their sons Riley, three, and Barry, eight months, have been so helpful.

She continued: ‘I already told my household. I was like, ‘I am training for the Olympics, okay?’ I want to train and eat clean, and feel good when I’m dancing and singing.”

As for her biggest motivation, the Grammy winner explained: ‘I don’t wanna be so winded, because right now, I’m winded.’

Her tour will follow the release of her sixth record, Timeless, which comes out June 14, her spouse’s birthday.

During the interview, her longtime love joined her side and agreed as she declared their plans to ‘have two more kids.’

The Massachusetts native, who has been praised for her empowering lyrics about body positivity over the years, previously lost 60 pounds after the birth of her first child.

‘I was my heaviest I’d ever been. I was 200 lbs… I just wasn’t feeling great,’ she told People in November 2022. ‘I’ve never had stitches, so to have this C-section scar, I was in a really dark place, and I wanted to be in a great place for my son.’

She said she began working out ‘every day’ and ‘was very dedicated.’

‘I started seeing the pounds come off one week at a time, one pound,’ she recalled. ‘I learned that I do like healthy food, and I learned what portions mean.’

Additionally, she learned her brain gets ‘so happy when’ she exercises.

Still, she admitted that she’s still learning ‘to love’ her new postpartum body, which she said was ‘covered in scars and stretch marks in new places.’

Ultimately, she said she just wanted to be able to ‘run and keep up’ with her children and ‘put on a bathing suit and run out there and not be in’ her head ‘about it.’

‘I’ve lost all the baby weight and 10 extra lbs., so I’m just going to keep going and do this for my younger self,’ she raved.

And she kicked off her new era of music with a collaboration with her favorite artist, T-Pain.

‘I worked with Meghan’s husband and manager for MONTHS trying to surprise her for her birthday, T-Pain said.

‘She’s been a fan of mine for a long time and the feeling is definitely mutual. I think we came together in a way that’s a perfect mesh of styles that will get everybody ready for us to work together again real soon. T-Pain and M-Train, the collab you never knew you wanted but needed.’
