alert-–-bill-maher-urges-biden-to-dump-kamala-harris-for-nikki-haley-to-form-‘dream-unity-ticket’-for-2024Alert – Bill Maher urges Biden to dump Kamala Harris for Nikki Haley to form ‘dream unity ticket’ for 2024

Bill Maher has suggested President Joe Biden consider replacing his current Vice President Kamala Harris with either Nikki Haley or Republican Senator Mitt Romney in a bid to bridge the divide between the political parties.

Maher suggested that if Biden were to pursue such an unconventional idea, it would likely result in electoral victory for the Democrats as the GOP members  would be running on a unity ticket.

‘I know it’s crazy to think that she could run with Biden, but that’s my dream, a unity ticket. And then he would, I think, definitely win,’ Maher suggested.

Maher, speaking during a panel conversation on HBO’s Real Time, acknowledged that the scenario was extremely unlikely with Harris almost certain to be Biden’s running mate.

Maher also recognized Haley’s controversial and ‘crazy’ statements, such as her assertion that America has ‘never been a racist country.’

‘Of course, she’s said some crazy things. Most politicians have- not as crazy as “We’ve never been a racist country.” I mean, that’s pretty crazy,’ Maher said.

In response to concerns about removing Harris, the first African American Vice President from the Democratic ticket, Maher pointed out that Haley is also woman of color.

On the panel, journalist Tara Palmeri raised concerns about potentially alienating the core of the Democratic party, which includes black women.

‘You would literally destroy the Democratic base. Take off the first African American Vice President off the ticket?’ Palmeri asked.

‘She’s a woman of color,’ Maher replied — referring to Haley.

‘But black women are the core of the Democratic party,’ Palmeri pushed back.

The vice president has continued to struggle to demonstrate her competence after a series of political missteps and awkward moments during her first three years.

Harris’ approval ratings are even lower than Biden’s, with a recent NBC News poll showing her at just 28 percent approval.

She has largely abandoned her responsibilities for the border crises and root causes of migration, choosing instead to blame Congress for failing to pass immigration reform.

Harris also routinely faces ridicule for her awkward ‘word salad’ speeches that frequently spiral out of control, burdened by a host of dependent clauses.

‘Something to reach across so that we don’t live in this world where everybody sees the other side as an existential threat,’ Maher said.

Maher has suggested removing Harris from the ticket for the vice presidency in October 2022.

‘What I could see is replacing the vice president because she’s just not very popular anywhere. And it didn’t seem to work out. And, I don’t know, that’s been done before on a ticket,’ Maher suggested to applause from his liberal audience.

Last week, Maher called for Biden to step aside from the race, noting that such a move would secure a victory for the Democrats.

‘If Biden drops out [Democrats] will win,’ Maher said. ‘Without a doubt.’

Haley suspended her presidential campaign this week after a disappointing Super Tuesday turnout.

She has so far refrained from throwing her support behind former President Trump, the sole Republican sailing towards the nomination despite having signed the RNC pledge to support the eventual nominee.

‘It is now up to Donald Trump to earn the votes of those in our party and beyond it who did not support him. And I hope he does that’,  Haley said on Wednesday.

‘At its best, politics is about bringing people into your cause, not turning them away. And our conservative cause badly needs more people. This is now his time for choosing.’

Both Five Thirty-Eight and RealClearPolitics show Trump leading Biden in the majority of the recent national polls on the 2024 presidential race.

The New York Times/Siena College poll has Trump leading Biden 48 percent to 43 percent as of March 2. And a recent poll from CBS News had Trump leading Biden 52 percent to 48 percent.

After the GOP primary contests being held on Super Tuesday, Trump is now the last major Republican candidate standing and poised to be the party’s nominee for a third time.

Trump is expected to clinch his party’s nomination on Tuesday, when Georgia, along with Hawaii, Mississippi and Washington state hold nominating contests.

There may not be a more hotly contested state than Georgia which swung to Biden in the 2020 election and was central to Trump’s false claims that he was the victim of widespread election fraud.

He faces criminal charges in the state over his attempts to interfere with the vote count there.
