There’s no shortage of stars out celebrating at the many parties being held ahead of the 96th Academy Awards.

On Friday, a slew of celebrities descended on the Vanity Fair x Saint Laurent x NBCUniversal Oppenheimer Film Toast in Los Angeles.

In fact, Robert Downey Jr. — who’s up for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the epic biological thriller film — made an appearance at the event with his wife Susan Downey by his side.

Known to have penchant for fashion, the acclaimed actor, 58, stepped out on to the red carpet in an off-white suit, a two-tone black button-own shirt and black boots.

In an added touch of cool, the Los Angeles native, who’s the son of writer, director and actor Robert Downey Sr., also donned thick black frame glasses with light lenses.

The couple showed off their chemistry while posing for photographers along the red carpet by holding hands and laughing and chatting with each other.

Susan Downey (born Susan Nicole Levin), 50, looked lovely in a black suit that was paired with a plunging white blouse.

The film producer and Schaumburg, Illinois native rounded out her ensemble with open-toe heels, and her brown locks styled long and flowing over her right shoulder with a part on the left.

Vanity Fair editor-in-chief Radhika Jones, Saint Laurent’s creative director Anthony Vaccarello and chairman of Universal Pictures and Universal Filmed Entertainment Group Donna Langley co-hosted the pre-Oscar party celebrating Oppenheimer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The invite-only event was held at a private residence and included dinner and a cocktail party honoring Oppenheimer, the film, which was written and directed by Christopher Nolan, who based it on the biography American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer (2005) by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.

The tribute to the epic biological thriller film is well deserved considering all the critical and commercial acclaim its received since premiering in theaters in the U.S. and UK on July 21.

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, starring Cillian Murphy in the title role, heads into the Oscars ceremony leading the pack with an impressive 13 nominations.

Another member of the Oppenheimer cast, Josh Hartnett, was also on hand for the pre-Oscars bash.
