Baby Daddy star Derek Theler has become a father in real life.
The actor, 37, shared the arrival of his son, Denali McKean, in a heart-melting Instagram post on Tuesday.
Denali is the actor’s firs child with actress wife Lisa Marie Summerscales, whom he wed in 2022.
Derek shared a snap of himself holding his baby boy, while beaming with pride. ‘I’m delighted to announce that our baby boy Denali McKean has made it to the world,’ he wrote in the caption.’

His TV mom from Baby Daddy, Melissa Peterman, wrote: ‘Congrats @derektheler and @lsummerscales ! Welcome to the world beautiful Denali!!!! I can’t wait to meet you! I love you already and I will always let you get 3 things at the store!’

Derek announced Lisa’s pregnancy in October, sharing a snap of them on a hike, with his hand on her baby bump.

He recently spoke about getting in shape during the actors’ strike so that he could avoid having a ‘dad bod.’

‘I’ve got a baby on the way so I want to make sure the dad bod doesn’t get started too early,’ he shared in an interview with KTLA 5 last month.
Lisa was also present for the interview, where she showed off her baby bump in a chic olive dress.
When asked whether they were scared or excited, he replied: ‘It’s our first, so a lot of fear, a lot of excitement. We’re as prepped as we can be at this point. Read the books, taken the classes, whatever happens next will happen.’
The Alaska native and the Ritual star started dating in May 2016. Theler announced their engagement in July 2022.
Derek and Lisa were married that same year in September.
His Baby Daddy co-stars were in attendance at the wedding.
