alert-–-bryce-dallas-howard-breaks-her-silence-on-the-taylor-swift-argylle-conspiracy-theoryAlert – Bryce Dallas Howard breaks her silence on the Taylor Swift Argylle conspiracy theory

Bryce Dallas Howard broke her silence on the Taylor Swift Argylle conspiracy theory as she appeared on Friday’s upcoming episode of The Graham Norton Show.

The forthcoming spy movie is based on a yet-to-be-published novel by Elly Conway and rumours have been rife that Elly is a pseudonym for Taylor.

However, Bryce, 42, called cold water on the claims as she said, ‘We can’t pretend she was involved. The reality is she was in many ways a great inspiration.

‘She is a cat lady, she’s got this awesome backpack with a cat in that she walks around with, she loves a good argyle sweater, and there is a sort of unapologetic dorkiness about her. That’s a little bit like what my character is like.’

Bryce was joined by co-star Bryan Cranston on the red couch to promote their spy action comedy Argylle which premiered on Wednesday.

Argylle also stars Samuel L. Jackson, John Cena, Catherine O’Hara, Richard E. Grant, and a different pop star, Dua Lipa.

Bryce played Elly Conway in the film, and Bryan played Ritter.

Fan theories about Taylor’s involvement in the film centered around the fact a cat featured heavily in the film is the same breed as Taylor’s – the Scottish Fold.

The movie cat also has its own Instagram page where several Taylor hints were dropped, such as lyrics to her hit song.

The film’s director Matthew Vaughn also denied rumours of Taylor’s involvement in an interview with Rolling Stone.

He said: ‘There is a real book … and it’s a really good book. And there is an Elly Conway who wrote the book, but it’s not Taylor Swift,’ he clarified in a new interview with Rolling Stone.

‘I did read the conspiracies and I was like, wow, they don’t leave a stone unturned! But it’s not Taylor Swift. She definitely didn’t write the book.’

Also on Graham Norton’s couch for Friday’s episode were Bradley Cooper, Carey Mulligan, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Daniel Kaluuya, Kevin Bridges, and Guy Garvey of the band Elbow.

Bradley, 49, and Carey, 38, discussed their film Maestro, released in November, a biopic following American composer Leonard Bernstein.

Daniel, 34, was asked if winning an Oscar for Judas and the Black Messiah, has changed his life.

He said: ‘It’s nuts. When we went to a party after everyone just gravitated towards me. It was great because it was just after the pandemic, and everyone was out. I was so happy.’

Asked if he will return to acting full-time, Daniel said: ‘I’m down for it and my bills say I should, but I’m not in a rush. If the right thing comes the right thing comes.’

The Graham Norton Show airs Friday night at 10.50 pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
