Disney+ has released an exciting new trailer for their new documentary series Choir, which is set to drop on the streaming giant on January 31.

The six-part program traces the journey of a group of kids who are part of the renowned Detroit Youth Choir (DYC) as they ready themselves for a life-changing performance.

Filmed five years after the DYC rose to fame on America’s Got Talent, the series chronicles a set of new challenges facing the choir.

‘We’re the underdogs out to prove what we can do,’ explains DYC director Armond White in the preview.

‘Come hell or high water I want to take these kids to the next big stage.’

Elsewhere in the trailer, members of the choir are seen showing off their best dance moves.

The preview also teases that the series will focus on 50 new recruits, who must be ready to take on the DYC’s next big show at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York.

Fans can also look forward to learning more about the Detroit Youth Choir’s inspirational leader and artistic director Anthony White.

It was White who led the DYC to its famed appearance on America’s Got Talent in 2019, when the choir danced and rapped its way through a high energy version of the 2013 Macklemore and Ryan Lewis hit, Can’t Hold Us.

The DYC ended their season on America’s Got Talent as runners-up.

‘Some of them have bad home situations or they could be in the streets,’ said White after the DYC won its audition on America’s Got Talent.

‘There’s violence. We give them something positive to come and be a part of.’

‘Choir’ is directed by award-winning filmmaker Rudy Valdez and produced by Imagine Documentaries and Blumhouse television.
