A shocking video shared by law enforcement authorities in Massachusetts shows a deadly confrontation between two men that took place at a local Hibachi restaurant.

The video was released by the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and shows the Friday night shooting at the Brockton restaurant, which left the victim dead.

Around 7.25pm, a masked man is seen approaching a table before pulling a gun from his jacket and shooting his victim at point-blank range. A bright muzzle flash could be seen and the camera shook over the shockwave from the blast.

As soon as the shot was fired, surveillance footage shows families with young children scrambling away from their nearby tables.

One man is seen grabbing a child and running out the Hibachi Sushi Supreme Buffet, which is located in the Brockton East Shopping Plaza.

The victim of the shooting was 22-year-old Joe Araujo, of Brockton. There do not appear to have been any other victims.

He was immediately taken to the nearby Good Samaritan Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not yet announced an arrest or a name for the suspect, though the DA’s Office said the incident does not appear to have been random and that Araujo was targeted.

Nobody else was hurt in the incident.

The case currently remains under investigation by the Brockton police and Massachusetts State Police who have been assigned to the DA’s Office.

The shooting left locals shaken over the nearby violence.

‘It’s terrible. I mean you bring a child out to dinner and you don’t think something like that is gonna happen,’ said John Monagle who visits the Crescent Street Plaza and buffet often, according to WBZ.
