alert-–-thug-who-violently-attacked-las-vegas-judge-is-now-in-solitary-confinement-after-admitting-he-assaulted-her-because-he-was-having-a-‘bad-day’Alert – Thug who violently attacked Las Vegas judge is now in SOLITARY CONFINEMENT after admitting he assaulted her because he was having a ‘BAD DAY’

A serial felon who hurled himself at a Las Vegas judge and battered her to the ground as she prepared to jail him has been put into solitary confinement.

Deobra Redden, 30, launched himself at Judge Mary Kay Holthus with the words ‘nah f*** that b**ch’ as she rejected his pleas for more probation.

Court video showed Holthus disappearing under a flurry of blows from the thug as she begged him to stop before security staff managed to haul him off.

Redden has now been moved to a solo cell following the violent outburst, according to TMZ. He was classified as a ‘2C’ inmate which is the most restrictive category in the Clark County Jail.

It comes after he admitted he tried to kill Judge Holthus because he was having a ‘bad day’, according to court documents viewed by KLAS.

Redden will not have any interactions with other inmates and will eat alone inside his cell with extremely limited outside time while in solitary confinement.

He told correction officers ‘Judge has it out for me,’ after he was detained following the outburst, court documents state.

The felon allegedly added: ‘Judge is evil,’ before he apologized to the officers.

‘I’m sorry you guys had to see that,’ he said before reportedly asking another officer if what he did was wrong.

He allegedly spat in a corrections officer’s face while still inside the courthouse following the incident.

Holthus’ head was slammed against the wall during the incident and she told police Redden was ‘big, strong, and angry’.

She was treated at the justice center before being taken to hospital by a family member due to continued pain. The judge was later released.

‘She remains sore and stiff but is thankful that this was not more severe,’ Clark County Chief Judge Jerry Wiese said.

Court marshal Shane Brandon, suffered a gash on his face that needed 25 stitches while law clerk Michael Lasso endured several minor hand abrasions.

Redden had six new felony charges added in Nevada where judicial officials are ‘protected persons’ but refused to come up from the cells to face another judge.

The thug has been repeatedly jailed, paroled and granted probation for a series of violent offences dating back at least 12 years, but told Holthus ‘I just figure I’m in a better place in my mind,’ before she attempted to sentence him.

Redden, who was supported in court by his mother, was first jailed in 2012 when he received 45 days for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.

He was jailed for another two months the following year after three times convictions for domestic battery, but he escaped with probation in 2014 when he was convicted of attempted theft.

He was twice convicted of domestic battery and once for battery with substantial bodily harm while on probation, but was sentenced to more probation which was ‘honorably discharged’ in 2020.

The following year saw him charged with attempted home invasion and destroying the property of another person, and again for domestic battery and this time he received a prison term of 12 to 30 months.

In January last year he had his first encounter with Judge Holthus on the home invasion charges.

She released him without bond after he pleaded guilty and sentenced him to a year of probation in February.

Two months later he was arrested after he threatened to ‘bust the kneecaps’ of another man with a baseball bat, ‘resulting in substantial bodily harm’.

In May he was ordered to undergo a competency determination which concluded he was competent in October.

Holthus issued a warrant for his arrest in December after he admitted the battery charges but failed to appear for sentencing, before the pair came face to face on Wednesday.

‘I would like to tell the court that like, based on my criminal history, I feel like I shouldn’t be sent to prison,’ he told her as she mulled his sentence.

‘Have you looked at your criminal history?’ she asked.

‘Three felonies, a gross (misdemeanor), nine misdemeanors, multiple domestic violence.

‘You got a lot going on, sir. Battery on a protected person, robberies, attempted home invasion.’

‘I just figure I’m in a better place in my mind, my mental health. I have a support system,’ he told her.

‘I just got hired as a teamster for a union making $20 an hour. And the reason behind every single domestic violence is I’d been dealing with mental health, and I didn’t know about dealing with mental health court, and I still didn’t know that I had a mental health problem until August 2022.’

He appears resigned to a jail term as he tells her ‘But if it’s appropriate for you, then you have to do what you have to do.’

In court on Wednesday he could be heard repeatedly punching Holthus and screaming at her using explicit language, meanwhile security officers attempted to restrain the crazed criminal.

Judge Holthus can be heard pleading with the criminal and begging him to get off her.

Redden was ironically being sentenced for aggravated battery with substantial bodily harm just before he launched his attack.

Judge Holthus experienced injuries as a result of the assault and her condition is being monitored.

The marshal was also injured and had to be transported to hospital following the brutal attack.

‘We commend the heroic acts of her staff, law enforcement, and all others who subdued the defendant,’ Las Vegas District Court said in a statement to Channel 13.

‘The court remains committed to a safe and secure courthouse and courtrooms.

‘We are reviewing all our protocols and will do whatever is necessary to protect the judiciary, the public, and our employees.’

Redden’s criminal history involving charges in both Nevada and Texas.

The 30-year-old has faced charges for battery, robbery, assault, injury to property and coercion, records show.

A judge had previously demanded that Redden undergo a competency determination, he was eventually found to be competent in October.
