The father of a rising teenage motocross star who was allegedly stabbed to death said he always feared his youngest son would meet a tragic end.

Seb O’Halloran, 19, was allegedly knifed by a teenage girl outside a home in Limpidi Drive, Mildura, around 540km north-west of Melbourne, on Saturday about 1.05am after intervening in a fight.

His devastated father, Mark O’Halloran, said his son’s untimely death had not hit him yet.

‘I always thought about this day. I thought he would die in a car accident or on a motorbike. I thought when he does, I’m just going to be shattered.

Seb O’Halloran (pictured), 19, was allegedly stabbed by a teenage girl outside a home in Limpidi Drive, Mildura, around 540km north-west of Melbourne , on Saturday about 1.05am after intervening in a fight

‘Now that it has happened… I’m doing OK under the circumstances,’ Mr O’Halloran told the Herald Sun.

Seb, a third-year building apprentice, was known for his fearless dirt bike riding and loyal friendships within the Mildura community.

‘He didn’t have fear; if something scared him or hurt him, he would just keep doing it until the fear went away,’ his father said.

‘If there was a jump he couldn’t do, he would keep on doing it until he mastered it.’

Victoria Police homicide squad detectives arrested a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man following Seb’s death and later charged the girl with his murder.

His devastated father, Mark O’Halloran, said he had always feared his son would meet a tragic end

‘The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined but [the] parties involved are known to each other,’ police said in a statement.

It remains unclear how Seb became involved in the deadly altercation.

Early reports indicated Seb may have intervened in an argument between the pair.

Paramedics had rushed to the scene, but were unable to save him.

Well-wishers have donated almost $24,000 to a GoFundMe page set up for Seb’s family.

‘Seb was a dearly loved son, brother, grandson & mate. Anyone who knew him loved his personality, cheeky ways, his passion for motocross, hard work ethic & love for his family & friends,’ the fundraiser states.

‘Seb’s passing has shocked his loved ones and our community alike and is something we’re still trying to process.’

The girl charged with murder, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was remanded in custody until her next court date on November 9.

CCTV footage and DNA samples will form part of the case against the teen, the Herald Sun reported.

Connor Byrnes, a friend of Seb’s, told the newspaper he was one of the most selfless people he knew.

‘He was the mate that would put everyone else before himself and did anything he could to help them,’ he said.

‘I can’t thank him enough for the amount of times he had been there for me when I needed him. I would do anything to be able to see that massive grin on his face again.’

Seb O’Halloran had reportedly tried to step in to stop a fight when he was allegedly stabbed

Tributes flowed on Monday as the shocked Mildura community came to terms with another young life lost.

‘My world, my brother, my best mate, my guardian angel. I love you more than anything the universe could have to offer,’ mate Damon Burke posted online.

Des O’Halloran said Seb’s family could not understand how the tragedy could happen.

‘We are all shocked and saddened by his tragic passing. Only 18 years old and his whole life ahead of him, we will never understand why this has happened … just horrendous,’ he stated.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact police immediately.
