alert-–-blake-shelton-slammed-by-fans-over-’embarrassing’-new-year’s-eve-performanceAlert – Blake Shelton slammed by fans over ’embarrassing’ New Year’s Eve performance

Blake Shelton has been slammed over an ’embarrassing’ New Year’s Eve performance after a pre-taped recording of the singer aired – despite fans being promised a live concert.

The 47-year-old country star was seen performing on stage with Trace Adkins, 61, during CBS’s New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash.

The icons took a step back in time and sang their 2011 hit, Hillbilly Bone, and while it was initially advertised as a live rendition, people who tuned in were quick to point out that it had been pre-recorded.

It appears as though the performance was recorded ahead of time because the country singer – who is married to popstar Gwen Stefani – had double booked and was singing his best hits at Oklahoma’s WinStar Casino on the same night.

While donning matching black button-down shirts and jeans, the country stars gave fans a blast from the past with the over-a-decade-old song.

The duo also sang the hit Hell Right.

The star-studded performance was held in front of an audience with the country stars showcasing their close bond by embracing during one of the songs.

And while many fans were overjoyed to see the singers perform together again after so many years, others were furious it was pre-recorded.

Many fans even took it so far as branding the entire performance as an ’embarrassment to country music.’

Others jokingly questioned how Blake could be in two places at once.

One person said: ‘How’s Blake Shelton “live” in Nashville for CBS Nashville New Year’s Eve when he’s about to go on stage at WinStar in five minutes? He must have one fast a** tour bus.’

Someone else commented: ‘Big fan of Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins. Their duet Hell Right however, is one of the dumbest songs I’ve ever heard.’

Another user added: ‘#CBSNashvilleNYE WTF is this? Thomas Rhett and Blake Shelton sound like absolute a**. This is an embarrassment to country music.’

In an interview with Access Hollywood, the pop singer revealed why she and her spouse had to be apart this year.

Gwen explained that she had planned to support her husband in Oklahoma – but work got in the way.

She said: ‘Well, it’s funny because I was going to be at his show, and then Vegas called and wanted me to be in Vegas.

‘Last year I did Vegas and I was like, “Remind me to never do Vegas again.” [But] you sometimes want to… not be the host.

‘So I was like, “Eh, I’m gonna do it.” If you’re gonna be working then I’m gonna be working.

‘So, I’m just gonna fly in and out it’s gonna be awesome. I’m really looking forward to it.’
