A young woman from Finland who was missing in Bali for nearly two days has been found safe and well.

Nelli Nuorva had last been seen leaving her villa in Umalas to go to the Circle K convenience store, at about 11.40pm on Sunday in the popular hotspot of Canggu.

She was wearing baggy clothing, a black helmet and was riding a grey LEXI scooter with registrations plates DK3872GAM.

Her phone and bank cards were left at the villa she was staying in and her friends had not heard from or seen her since.

One friend of Ms Nuorva, Esmé Schmidt, confirmed on Tuesday afternoon she had since been found.

The Finnish-born woman has lived in Bali for the past three years

One friend of Ms Nuorva, Esmé Schmidt, confirmed on Tuesday afternoon she had since been found

‘We couldn’t be more relieved and grateful to have her back,’ she wrote on Instagram.

‘Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who shared, searched and sent their love.

‘It just goes to show how loved our Nels is and how wonderfully well this community can come together when needed.’

Ms Schmidt asked followers to respect Ms Nuorva’s privacy and to ‘think carefully before asking any invasive questions’.

Earlier her friends had put out desperate calls on social media to help find the young woman.

They said they had checked hospitals and local beaches and carparks, all to no avail.

A friend of Ms Nuorva said police had been alerted but there was no GPS in the scooter to track her down.

‘We’ve all lived in Bali for three-plus years so she knows Canggu very well,’ the friend said.

CCTV had also captured Ms Nuorva leaving the villa on the scooter.
