The Texas pregnant mom who went missing days ago and has now been found dead alongside her boyfriend had a restraining order against him, court documents show.
Savannah Soto, 18, had been beaten by boyfriend Matthew Guerra, 22, last Christmas Day and filed charges against him resulting in a protective order.
‘You are prohibited from intentionally, knowingly or recklessly communicating with Savannah Soto, whether by telephone, in writing, or in person in a harmful or injurious manner,’ court records state.
The documents do not provide details on the 2022 assault.
Soto went missing Dec. 23, one week after she was due to give birth to a baby and never showed up at the hospital where she was scheduled to be induced on Saturday.

A user who claimed to be a neighbor of Soto and Guerra last year said they witnessed the boyfriend ‘arguing and beating her almost every day’
Mariana Delgado, who claims to be the deceased teenager’s sister-in-law, posted on Facebook that Soto’s body had been found early this evening and that she was in a ‘bad bad condition’
Two bodies, believed to be Soto and Guerra, were found dead in a car in the parking lot of a San Antonio apartment building Tuesday, police confirmed.
The pair had been dead for three or four days, the police chief said, adding that the crime scene was ‘perplexing,’ and that the deaths were being treated as murders.
On Wednesday morning, police said that both victims had sustained a ‘gunshot wound’. The unborn baby was also pronounced dead at the scene.
Soto’s sister-in-law, Joanie Wasil, told local news station KSAT that someone who spotted the car contacted her on Facebook, and the family made their way to the scene after alerting police.
Wasil told the station that she saw Soto dead in the front passenger seat, and Guerra dead in the back. She saw Soto’s face ‘and didn’t want to see anymore’.
Guerra violated his parole for the domestic violence charge just days after the Christmas Day beating last year.
In June, he was back court after being charged with three new felonies: evading arrest, unlawfully having a fire arm and reckless driving.
‘The defendant demonstrates being in the pre contemplation stage and wants to continue to engage in criminal activity,’ the legal paperwork notes.
He also failed to seek lawful employment or attend battery counseling classes.

The 18-year-old was last seen at her Leon Valley apartment and was described to be in ‘imminent danger’ or involuntarily disappeared
After Soto’s disappearance, a neighbor of Soto and Guerra claimed they witnessed the boyfriend ‘arguing and beating her almost every day.’
‘I witnessed him beating her and kicked her downstairs while she was unconscious,’ the unnamed person said, adding that ‘he kicked her body and face’ and ‘she needed stitches.’
Despite a documented history of violence, Guerra’s mother made online claims that her son was not abusive.
‘I know my son and he wouldn’t do anything to hurt her,’ Karen Hernandez posted in the days when the couple was still missing.
‘As a mother, I know my son and his girlfriend were taken against their will because my son does what he does for money.’
Her boyfriend Matthew Guerra had also gone missing and some have accused him of being involved. Guerra’s mother denied the accusations against her son: ‘I know my son and he wouldn’t do anything to hurt her’
Victor Nathaneal Rivas, 18, was on trial for the murder of Ethan Soto, 15, on Friday when the Soto family launched an attack, footage shows
The shooter reportedly lured his ‘victim’ from his home in May 2022 after Ethan stole THC cartridges from Rivas (pictured: Ethan Soto)
Hernandez did not elaborate on what exactly the did for money.
Neither Guerra or Soto were strangers to the court system.
Soto’s family was recently involved in a courtroom brawl.
Soto’s younger brother Ethan, 15, was shot dead in what is believed to have been an act of revenge for a drug robbery in May 2022, according to San Antonio police.
Just months ago, members of the Soto family were seen charging the man accused of killing Ethan.
Victor Nathaneal Rivas was taking the stand in court, when members of the Soto family were seen launching at him, triggering a huge brawl breaking out.
Footage shows at least four members jumping a partition and throwing punches at Rivas – who allegedly provoked the group by making a gesture at them.
An autopsy is underway to determine the exact cause of death for Soto and Guerra.
