alert-–-boston-mayor-michelle-wu’s-home-is-‘swatted’-on-christmas-day-just-weeks-after-hosting-controversial-‘no-whites’-holiday-party-for-‘electeds-of-color’Alert – Boston Mayor Michelle Wu’s home is ‘swatted’ on Christmas Day just weeks after hosting controversial ‘no whites’ holiday party for ‘electeds of color’

Boston’s party-throwing mayor faced some uninvited guests on Christmas Day when police banged on her door in response to a hoax shooting report.

Michelle Wu was swatted as she sat at home with her family less by a malicious caller than two weeks after she was dubbed ‘Wu Klux Klan’ for throwing a controversial ‘no whites’ party for ‘electeds of color’.

The caller told police that he had shot his wife at the $850,000 house in the tony Rosindale district after coming home to find her cheating on him.

Moments later the Democrat mayor answered her door to find police with guns drawn and two ambulances outside.

‘For better or worse my family are a bit used to it by now, and we have a good system with the department,’ Wu told WBUR.

‘When there are true emergencies that happen and there are resources being deployed in this way, it is concerning.’

Boston’s first female mayor faced a storm of criticism and claims she may have broken anti-segregation laws for her December 13 party for the city’s elected officials at the city-owned Parkman House from which all white people were purposely excluded.

News of the party only emerged when a city hall employee sent out the invite to all city councilors by mistake.

But the mayor was unrepentant claiming ‘some of the folks who are concerned might also just not have all the information’.

‘We celebrate all kinds of connection and identity and culture and heritage in the city,’ she added.

‘Just yesterday we hosted our official City Hall Hanukkah lighting.

‘We have had tree lightings, and we want to be a city where everyone’s identity is embraced, and that there are spaces and communities we can help support.’

Prominent Boston conservative Howie Carr accused her of putting ‘the party back in apartheid’.

‘What if a white mayor had held a whites-only party at a city-owned building, after specifically disinviting all the non-white members of the City Council?’ the veteran radio host wrote in a Boston Herald editorial.

‘It would have been the end of the world, a national story for days if not weeks on end. On the night of the party, there would have been rioting, or looting and violence.’

The hoaxer called 911 at 5.30pm on Monday and said he had tied up both the wife he had just shot and the man he had found her with.

Dispatchers recognized the address as Wu’s and checked with the security detail stationed outside who told then he had heard no gunshots from within.

He then waited for back-up to arrive before hammering on her door.

Wu said her home has been swatted a number of times since she took office as mayor in November 2021 and police said they had no confirmation of the motive for the latest hoax.

It took place just hours after Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene was swatted for ‘like the eighth time’ at her home in Georgia, days after she celebrated meeting notorious ‘Q-Anon shaman’ Jacob Chansley.

‘My local police are the GREATEST and shouldn’t have to deal with this,’ she tweeted as she enjoyed Christmas Day with her family.

‘I appreciate them so much and my family and I are in joyous spirits celebrating the birth of our savior Jesus Christ!’

The 49-year-old conservative was swatted twice in August alone.

On August 23, the Rome Police Department said officers ‘responded to a 911 call reference to a subject being shot multiple times at an address within the city limits.’

According to the police report, the caller said a man had been shot at MTG’s home and that a woman and children could still be inside.

When cops turned up at her home, she assured them there was no issue and the call was determined to be a swatting incident.

The police report went on to say officers ‘received a second call from the suspect who was using a computer generated voice stating that he/she was upset about Mrs Greene’s political view on transgender youth rights.’

The next day, her home was targeted again by a prank caller who told cops they had gunned down her family and threatened to kill any officers who came to the door.

Jewish sites across the United States reported 199 ‘swatting’ incidents in the space of 24 hours earlier this month as anti-Semitic incidents have surged in the aftermath of the war in Gaza.

And the FBI set up the country’s first Command Center in May 2023 to co-ordinate the federal, state, local responses to tackle swatting.

Celebrities including Ashton Kutcher, Tom Cruise, Chris Brown, Miley Cyrus, Iggy Azalea, Jason Derulo, Snoop Dogg, Justin Bieber, and Clint Eastwood have fallen victim to the practice

And at least two victims have been shot dead by police in the US responding to bogus reports.
