alert-–-texas-city-is-hit-by-wild-acts-of-vandalism-as-bunnies-go-on-rampant-christmas-crime-spree-and-chew-up-holiday-decorationsAlert – Texas city is hit by wild acts of vandalism as BUNNIES go on rampant Christmas crime spree and chew up holiday decorations

A city in Texas has been hit by wild acts of vandalism by dastardly creatures looking to ruin the holidays – bunny rabbits.

The bunnies have been accused of chewing electrical cords, breaking ceramic statues and leaving a huge mess among decorations.

The Hutto Police Department issued a public service announcement  Thursday informing its residents their ‘native cottontail,’ which is normally ‘timid and docile,’ is wreaking havoc.

The police said, ‘every year around the holidays these cute and fuzzy bunnies go on rampant crime sprees, and noted the ‘primary suspect will look a lot more like Bugs Bunny than your neighborhood kids.’

‘They commit seemingly random acts of vandalism while besmirching the reputation of our local youth.’

One woman named Jackie Lord, who called the culprits ‘little jerks’ wrote after seeing the advisory that she ‘learned that quickly,’ then posted a sad emoji face to express her distress, ‘the little jerks got me the day after my decorations went up.’

Authorities urged homeowners who have light decorations that are located near the ground to be vigilant.

Officials added ‘the destructive and vindictive hare will 100% bite clean through the strand and do the most damage the least convenient spot.

Another homeowner who was stumped before the police advisory was posted said she ‘had no idea what it was’ when a similar incident happened to her last week, but appeared elated once she found out what happened.

‘You’ve cracked the case for us,’ she said. ‘Well done, police.’

One resident, who appeared to be unfazed, said the first year they decorated their home they thought it was kids.

Others went to Facebook to share some humorous photos of the tormenter, while others mentioned the rabbit officials pictured was ‘not’ a cottontail.

Some doled out advice telling some homeowners to get a ‘scarecrow’ while others gave a more technical explanation and offered a do-it-yourself remedy.

‘Domestic “bunny parent” community calls ANY wire or cord, “spicy hay,” they wrote.

‘If you have little areas to cover, Amazon and Home Depot sell wire covers – you can run the plug through a clear or gray/white/black tube, and the bunnies can’t get to them.’

One person, who appeared to be an animal lover wrote: ‘Please be nice to the bunnies. We must share our world with all Gods creatures.’

Hutto, located in Williamson County, Texas and part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area has a population of over 27,000.
