Cadbury ’s classic Milk Tray (530g) tops the list with a whopping 50% increase in price since 2013.

The iconic favourite that would cost you £6 a decade ago, is now being priced at £9.00 in major supermarkets despite not changing in size.

Thorntons (264g) and Terry’s Chocolate Orange (200g) are second on the list, after seeing a major price increase of almost 43% each.

A box of Classic Thorntons now costs £10, as opposed to the £7 it cost in 2013, meanwhile a Terry’s Chocolate Orange is £5 up from it’s previous £3.50 price tag.

Quality Street’s iconic tub has rose by close to 38% – from £4 to £5.50, and Lindt comes just below with nearly 36% increase (£7 to £9.50).

Ferrero Rocher, Dairy Box and Toblerone have also had notable increases, placing in the bottom end of the list.

Cadbury Heroes, Cadbury Roses and Celebrations all increased by just 50p (10%) as their price climbed from £5 to £5.50.

The study also looked at how the sizes of chocolate boxes have changed over the years.

It found that Cadbury’s Roses have shrunk the most by 35 per cent from 850g in 2013 to 550g this year while they have gone up in price from £5 to £5.50.
