Olivia Atwood was brutally scolded by her mother over her ‘vile’ new tattoo and inappropriate dress on Friday.

The TV personality, 34, shared an update to her Instagram, showing off her outfit of the day and latest inkings.

But she was mocked by her mum, Jennifer, who said she ‘shouldn’t be seen in public.’

Olivia wore a floral mini dress with a plunging neckline and teamed the number with a pair of knee high boots.

After showing off her outfit, she then revealed her new tattoos and explained: ‘So, I have some new tattoos, the first one is a little ghost holding a heart.

‘Because even if you are dead inside you still have love to give.’

She continued: ‘I’ve had some comments that it looks like a tampon and now that’s all I can see when I look at it.

‘Then I’ve started a hand piece on the other side that’s like a chain thing.

‘I just know my mum will come on here and leave a mean comment in the comments section so please stick up for me. So is it a ghost or a tampon?’

Sharing her thoughts in the comments section, Jennifer wrote: ”It’s not a ghost or a tampon just another vile scribble.

‘The dress …where do i start? too low cut and too short recommend not be seen in public.’

‘But as you are gorgeous and have an incredible figure I suppose none of that really matters (thought I should say something nice).’

Last year, Olivia revealed her family are struggling with the demands of fame and explained how her mother can’t even go to her local shop in Cheshire.

The ITV darling, who is tipped to become the next Holly Willoughby, told : ‘My mum’s like, ”I can’t even go to the village shop without being recognised now,” and I’m like, ”You love it, don’t lie”.

‘It’s a big adjustment [fame] not just for me and we’re all learning to navigate it at the same time and how it affects each of us differently.’

Since starring on Love Island in 2017, Olivia has become one of the most successful contestants, going on to front documentaries for ITV.

Her father, Kai, has remained largely out of the limelight – all that is known is his passion for vintage and luxury cars – while her mother, Jenny, has made appearances in a number of her documentaries and on her podcast: So Wrong, It’s Right.

Olivia said: ‘Being thrust into the spotlight off the back of Love Island is a big adjustment not just for you but for everyone around you because it happens instantly.

‘No just for me but for my parents and siblings and I try to be respectful of that and I’m very appreciative of them being supportive of me.’
