A prominent rocker from Brisbane’s local music scene has revealed that doctors ignored his worrying cancer symptoms until it was too late.
Jordan Brunoli, 29, now has stage 4 colorectal cancer and has shared his experience online and warned others to watch out for danger signs.
The musician, who plays bass for the band Bugs, has undergone surgery following his diagnosis and has also had chemotherapy.
Doctors fitted Jordan with a stoma to collect bodily waste after they removed tumours from his bowel and lymph nodes.
Jordan’s bandmates shared details of their friend’s medical journey when news broke of his illness in June.
Posting to the band’s official Instagram, they said that Jordan’s devastating diagnosis has come ‘completely out of the blue’.

They also shared how Jordan had been ‘sent away’ from the emergency ward and his GP after showing symptoms.
‘After months of constant pain, Jordan was finally sent for a scan and diagnosed, leaving him and his family in a state of shock.’
Jordan recently shared his experience on a GoFundMe page set up to assist with his medical expenses.
He told followers he was getting ‘used to’ wearing a stoma.
‘Physically, this doesn’t hold me back, I’m able to do 90 per cent of what I could before, just with a slightly higher risk of getting a hernia,’ he explained.
Jordan also advised readers to be quick in following up on any possible symptoms of colon cancer.
‘Not to be preachy, but if you have witnessed any blood in your stool, experienced weird abdominal pains, unexplained weight loss, or extended periods of fatigue — don’t be afraid to raise it with your GP and ask for an abdominal ultrasound.
‘I thought I was too young, but there has been a recent increase in instances of colorectal cancer in people under 30.
